Allow me to present a theory about Pete Hegseth's "sexual assault victim".

In 2017 Hegseth was a speaker at a women's conference. The victim approached Hegseth after the conference and criticized his treatment of women. Hegseth basically replies "Hey you've got it all wrong I'm a nice guy". They are caught on security video later walking arm in arm in pleasant company. No indication the woman is drunk or drugged. They proceed to Hegseth's hotel room and have sex.

The Theory

This woman knew Hegseths' history with women and targeted him as an easy score for a law suit. Of course she's still anonymous (BIG SURPRISE!) but my guess is she is hot looking and knows how to use what her Momma gave her. The whole thing was planned. Her story was so weak no charges were filed against Hegseth. But apparently she got some money in a quiet settlement which was the goal all along. And to go out on a limb, Hegseth was not this chicks' only attempt at extortion via sex. This is the downside of the METOO movement and "The woman MUST be believed". The problem is sometimes the woman is an unethical liar taking advantage of the times to extort money from men in the public eye. And that is sad because there are many legitimate victims of sexual assault who won't come forward because of gold-diggers like Hegseths' "victim".

If it was just one woman, you might have reasonable doubt, the but the stories are that there were multiple women, and his OWN MOTHER wrote him an email calling him out for his behavior.

That was not the question, and your theory doesn't really mean anything in context of the facts of the case.

Again, how do you define consent? I can surmise how you define it, but I would appreciate you giving us the definition yourself. And by "us", I mean those participating in this thread or any other thread dealing with the same topic.

Just because she apologized doesn't negate what she said.

When people are emotional and/or drunk are both times when the societal filter that we keep in place can slip and individuals verbalize how they genuinely feel.

And Pete lied when he said the police 100% cleared him. They did no such thing. The prosecutor declined to bring charges allegedly because of "insufficient evidence" indicating that they couldn't prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

It always baffles me when they claim that they can't meet the threshold of 98% BEFORE an investigation has occurred. And by investigation, I mean an investigation by a police detective, not the "investigation" that is conducted by the patrol officers.
