One can hardly blame Obama for this. This is due to decades of American foreign policy that sends us around the world meddling in other nations' affairs.

Actually, this conservative does not blame Obama for the attacks or for the Cairo Embassy's initial apologetic response which was inexcusable in my opinion. We do not apologize for a U.S. citizen expressing his opinion, particularly when barbarians stage their assault on 9/11, a month after the video was released. Diplomatic posts abroad can be dangerous. That's the job. Now we have the Egyptian government apologizing on one hand while demanding that we punish the American citizen who made the video. Yeah. Right. There's no excuse for these people's barbaric behavior, and the only apology owed is that of the respective governments of Egypt and Libya to us. And the only punishment called for here is that to be exacted on the perpetrators of these crimes.

I will, however, hold Obama responsible to properly handle this situation from here on out.

Why no thread for every soldier that dies in Afghanistan under Obama? The numbers are far greater than when Bush was President but the media no longer plasters it everywhere or keeps the death toll count coming all hours of the day. Why is that I wonder? People need to remember we are still at war in the world. Those lives along with the lives of those in the embassy mean something. They are sacrificing for America and deserve recognition.

Precisely. Yes, Obama is responsible and of course the Cairo embassy's apology was breathtakingly stupid and utterly inexcusable. Many diplomatic posts are dangerous. That's the job. They are there to accurately represent and defend America's constitutional values, not appease piss ant thugs or tyrants. On that point, Romney is dead on. As far as assuming the administration directed the embassy to make that apology . . . well, that was careless, even if that proves to be the case later. Premature. Romney has to be careful here. As things are now, the comments that somewhat veered off that central idea are not playing well politically.

I'm very concerned about that. This country can't take another four years of Obama's idiocy, including his confusing foreign policy, especially one that leaves the only dependable ally in the Middle East hanging. Obama's kiss-ass approach is appalling.
