Senate holds the trial.
The house does the investigation and presents the Articles.
If the House had done it's job instead of being in a hurry, that's on the House.
No need for the Senate to re-investigate!
That's just the way it is.....
no prosecutor holds back evidence if he acquires it after he has already indicted a person....
the trial is where ALL evidence, comes out, and if new evidence is available, the trial prosecutors admit it in to evidence at the trial, same with new or additional witnesses, while also notifying the defense of it....
same with the defense team, they can start with one witness list and then modify it, with different witnesses if they are more pertinent to their defense case...
NO ONE is LOCKED IN to just what was available at the time of the original indictment....?
THAT is considered a fair trial, for both the defendant, and for whom the defendant allegedly harmed.
so, I do not understand why a fair impeachment trial, would not be similar??
