Some people have very skewed ideas of what counts as “assisted suicide”.

I’ve met a lot of ignorant people who feel nurses giving hospice patients morphine is assisted suicide or euthanasia. Ummmmm…. no…. they died of what they were already dying of…. how do you think they wound up on hospice in the first place?

As much as the nurse feels the patient needs within the parameters of the dose ordered by the MD.

Again, the patient is ALREADY dying. Their terminal diagnosis and it’s effects on the body is what “kills” the patient. Pain meds simply ease the pain, restlessness, dyspnea etc

If someone is totally disabled and suffering 24/7, that life is much better then Afterlife Punishment. Each unit of suffering in this World prevents about 3,000,000 units of suffering in the Next World.

One unit of suffering is one nociceptor firing at it's top ability. Most people have about 20 million nociceptors.

No, since it isn’t the morphine that kills the patient, the answer is no. It’s ordered in doses that usually range from 5-20mg. We don’t just administer however much we want all willy-nilly
