Abandoned vibrator prompts bomb scare
Bomb squad experts in Austria sealed off a busy motorway to deal with a suspicious package that turned out to be a switched-on vibrator.
A man reported noises from the package after seeing it left in the car park at a busy motorway service station at Rankweil.
He called local police and alerted them to the what he believed was an "explosive device with a ticking timer".
But when explosive experts who sealed off the area opened the packet it turned out to be nothing more explosive than a pack of hard core porn films lying next to the vibrator.
Peter Freudelsberger, local police spokesman, said: "When our experts opened the suspicious package, it turned out that it was full with all sorts of sex articles.
"The vibrator had been switched on but the batteries had run down and it was not vibrating any more, just making a sort of ticking noise."
Police took the items away, but say they are not expecting the owner to turn up to collect them.
