Alabama moves to eliminate marriage licenses

This would change nothing, except that court clerks wouldn't sing marriage licenses. Gays still get married, and so do straights. Gays and straights get divorced in court, and child support and estate division gets ordered. This isn't victory for homophobes. Alabama would be saying "OK, we give up!" LOL
You misunderstand. Nobody gives a shit if homos get married. But we will not be FORCED to marry them or FORCED to endorse their marriages.

They can do whatever they want. They just can't make us participate. And we won't. And we haven't.
Actually, the bill "would force" someone at the probate office to file the contract. It would save the homophobes like Davis from issuing anything. In short, the state would still be forced to accept gay marriage, and divorce courts would have to treat all equally.

The bill failed, but I guess it'll pass in the next regular session.
Filing something is not the same as signing your name to it. Dumbasses don't get the difference, but those of us who have actually worked in the real world do.

Oh, and KG, what will the poor judges do when all those GLBT folks come in for divorces and then file actions about child support. LOL

the Homos didn't give that any more thought than they've ever given anything else. Not that it matters....thanks to Obamacare, the state is already bailing on child support enforcement and the establishment of ch sup orders. It used to be when women applied for medical through the state, it was an eligibility REQUIREMENT that they provide the absent parents' names of their kids..and the state would then initiate a child support order and pursue child support. And they didn't have to be the blood parent, they just had to have assumed the role of that child's parent in the past, to be liable for the child support.

Not any more. So all that's falling by the wayside, anyway. All the fags who get *donors* aren't going to be able to get child support from their loser ex spouses..or from the biological parents. Cuz Obamacare put the nix to all that, lol. People don't need to pay for their babies. Just let the state do it! I'm sure they're do a fine job!

Actually, what Alabama legislatures are attempting to do here is brilliant. I predict it will be the very way other states will go as well. This solves both the gay marriage question by recognizing gay marriage as a contract between two (or more) parties and solves the problem faced by pastors and others who have felt threatened into being forced to perform gay marriage ceremonies. It preserves both the rights of the gays and the rights of those who oppose performing gay marriages or issuing marriage licenses to gays. it's a win for all. Gays will have lost what they aimed most to accomplish - to force acceptance of their lifestyle upon Christians and the Church. If only God accepted their little piece of paper. Oh well, they can protest that directly with Him when they meet Him.

What about divorces? Will Alabama hand that off to churches too? What about paternity lawsuits? Where's the marriage license? What about tax status, passports, insurance policies?

Alabama did this without thinking it through thoroughly, but that's no surprise where religious idiots have a say in secular government.
You haven't read the thread, have you?

Good the government should not be in the marriage business to begin with.
Why should you need the government's approval to get married, not to mention paying them for the privilege.
Sad for those who do not get a marriage license....their divorces and child custodies and survivor benefit situations are going to be rather interesting.

That's a matter of personal responsibility. Wills and separation, are issues one can prepare for, without a governmental, cookie-cutter, indiscriminate, "safety net".
It requires one to take not only responsibility; but to take action, as well...

No, it's not.

It's the simple fact of the advantages built in to the system for 2 person partnerships with proper documentation. Your legal spouse can do things to and for you that no other family member can.

Simple recognition by the state is NOT too much to ask.

Crock of shit. You can make a contract that takes care of any *special* things that you claim a marriage contract via the state automatically confers.

It's going to fuck with the tax men though, and that's a good thing too.

We're back to getting married in secret, in the woods, behind the sheriff's back..just like they did in the days of William Wallace..and Robin Hood! Lololol...That's what happens when you have a corrupt tyrannical government. Eventually the people just start ignoring them, doing what they want, and eventually killing them.

:lmao:

Thank you. I didn't think that you had been invited.

Which is exactly what we wanted from the very beginning. Government shouldn't dictate what constitutes "marriage" or whether or not marriage is a sacrament. Let them have their little contracts and such so they can sue the shit out of each other, who cares. But there's no government body in the US and there is no homo brigade that will EVER force Christians to pen their names to queerball marriages, or allow the government to tell us what is a sacrament and what isn't. And I wish the queerballs the best of luck forcing Christians to fix up goodies and festoon the halls in celebration of their homo festivals under the misnomer of "weddings". It just isn't going to happen.

Yes, the fags will have to go back to the drawing board and try to come up with another way to attack Christianity now. They will soon learn their little piece of paper isn't a product warranty. What I like about this is that Alabama will still earn revenues off the fags.

Alabama Moves to Eliminate Marriage Licenses

:D Good. I GUARANTEE the butt fucker hate brigade will attack this with ALL its might because what they TRULY want is the state to be forced to recognize their disgusting idea of marriage! GOOD JOB ALABAMA! Let the ignorant tirades and hate filled comments against Alabama and Southerns begin! :)
So? That only goes to show how brain-dead rightwingers are. They would rather not recognize over a million marriages among heterosexuals so that they don't have to recognize thousands of gay marriages. Talk about throwing the baby out with the bath water.
If you read the text of the law IDIOT the state will still accept marriage by the church. So are the homo's going to FORCE the church to marry them? CAN'T be done.

Oh it will be done. By hook or by crook. 5 old men and women will issue their edict and the church will either bend to the will of 5 old men and women or face losing their tax exempt status and further persecution. It won't be pretty.

Then they will go underground and there will be war, and the mex psychos and Islamic terrorists will start slaughtering fags. Good plan, moron.

You, like most faggots, don't think at all.

What will be really hilarious is when we get Muslims determining who gets foidstamps. That right there would starve the homo population to about 1/3 of its current population in six months or so. Poor fuckers will have to work....and the majority of them have made a career out of thinking up ailments, diseases and mental disorders to avoid just that.

Look at all these swollen pussies. This thread needs an OBGYN. lol
