I just saw a blurb on MSNBC that Franken has taken the lead for the first time. I don't know what the details are, or if it will hold.

But, this can't be good for Loofa-man's mental health.

There ARE improperly cast ballots in EVERY election... discounting those ballots not properly cast is not suppressing a vote

Not to mention the Court awarded Franken 118 votes in the recount with no evidence they were ever cast except some body reported them on a tally sheet the night of the election. So much for the intent and purpose of a recount.

We have people far lower than Franken in politics. I think Bush still has the record

One can disagree with Franken's politics or find his manner abrasive, but he's very smart. Graduated cum laude from Harvard College. We had an exterminator who didn't like laws against poisoning people with chemicals as a congressional leader (DeLay) and had other various and sundry useless types in congress. But GWB still holds the record for the low point in U.S. politics -- at least they're counting the votes in Minnesota.

This isn't a recent thing.

I never could understand how Franken was the best qualified Democrat in Minnesota.

But this crap goes on all the time. Republicans nominated a hollywood movie star to be governor of california, they elected Sonny Bono to congress, then they elected Sonny Bono's wife to congress. And the most hilarious one of all, was when republicans elected "Gopher" from that crap Love Boat TV show to congress.

RCP had Coleman up by almost three points. Only one poll had franken ahead at the end.

I'm shocked. But your photo of the poll doesn't indicate what date it's from.

And FiveThirtyEight always had Franken winning. I think he said it was going to be by something like 30 votes or something ridiculous like that.

It was the final set of polls before the election. The "Final Results" row is the actual election results, the stuff below is the last set of data.

Five thirty eight might be right, or they might not, but RCP called the presidential election spot on, and many others as well.... So I am not pleased with Minnesota and I doubt anyone is.
