The U.S. Air Force will reopen bidding for a mid-size aerial refueling tanker, with a goal to make a decision made by Dec. 31, Congressman Todd Tiahrt's office said.
The announcement came three weeks after congressional auditors found the Air Force made "significant errors" in awarding the contract to Northrop Grumman and the European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co., parent company of Airbus. Without those errors, the Government Accountability Office said Boeing would have had a "substantial" chance of winning the contract.
