The modern world angst regarding the global threat of terrorism goes to some of the roots of human instinct related intrigue and problems. In Ancient Egypt, humanity saw the oppression of Moses's Jews. During the Roman Empire, widespread corruption required the Messianic work of Jesus. From the colonial period and the exploration of the Americas to the modern age, we saw revolutionary and populism instincts for democratic governance emerge, which complemented society 'complications' such as the Donner Party, the Los Angeles Race Riots, and the Enron scandal.
The development of modern civilization has been wed to transit and traffic, so airline terrorism became pronounced after the Pan Am incident and 9/11.
Maybe that's why we celebrate pedestrian-traffic terrorism films such as Air Force One and G.I. Joe: Retaliation.

The valiant G.I. Joes were asked by the Trump Administration to protect the flight itineraries of Air Force One, the President's private airline. Duke, the leader of the G.I. Joes, ordered his soldiers Flint, Snake Eyes, and Lady Jaye to supervise the operation. Duke did not realize that the super-terrorist organization Cobra was coordinating a focused attack on Air Force One during its diplomacy-flight to Israel in the summer of 2017. Cobra Commander ordered his 'minions' Storm Shadow, Firefly, and Major Bludd to organize the terrorism plan.
As President Trump boarded Air Force One, escorted by Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow flew in on a hang-glider and used tear-gas grenades to create anarchy, while Major Bludd, Firefly, and five armed members of the Cobra Crimson Guard (an elite fighting unit, comparable to the US Navy Seals) dealt with Flint, Lady Jaye, and Trump's guardsmen to force everyone onto the airplane and demand the pilots take off, enabling Cobra to take Air Force One hostage. Major Bludd commanded the pilot to fly the plane right into the center of Jerusalem and crash it.
Cobra Commander was sitting in his fortress, eerily grinning. "My plan is a complete success! Major Bludd will have Air Force One crash into the ground of Jerusalem, which will give my vizier Destro the opportunity to send out a radio broadcast to the Pentagon, demanding $5 billion and complete control of the White House to prevent Cobra from dropping chemical weapons all over Washington, D.C.!" Duke was in his study-room completely panicking: "What the heck is G.I. Joe to do? Major Bludd will most likely parachute out of Air Force One before the plane (carrying President Trump and some valuable G.I. Joes such as Lady Jaye) crashes down on Jerusalem!"
As Air Force One approached Jerusalem, Lady Jaye was being watched by Storm Shadow. She started making jokes to her boyfriend G.I. Joe Flint about the random film being played on the airplane during the flight, Air Force One, starring Harrison Ford. "We're watching a movie about a terrorism-takeover of Air Force One, while living a nightmare! I bet even these Cobra 'gargoyles' are watching with us!" Fling laughed and said, "Let's see if Storm Shadow has the guts to untie us to see if we can fight hand-to-hand (like human beings)!" Storm Shadow took the bet (just with Flint), and the mighty G.I. Joe overtook him before untying Lady Jaye and re-taking Air Force One. As Air Force One landed safely in Jerusalem, Flint said to the CNN cameras, "This is a clear example why Americans should be encouraged for making films such as Air Force One (starring Harrison Ford)!"
