I've yet to see anyone do evil for the sake of evil. No one is all good or all bad. I don't believe you are seeing the full picture.

What about those who torture, are they doing evil for the sake of evil? If not, why are they doing evil?

I think in some cases you are absolutely right. We learned from the Stanford Prison Experiments back in the 70s just how wicked humans can be.

In the case of Abu Ghraib and others during the Bush years, the instructions to torture came from higher levels. I guess some did it happily while others participated to keep a job.

God cannot look upon sin. You need God for when you die....because either you create your eternity or God (good and perfect) creates yours.

You need God to see you....God does not need you or necessarily wants to see you.

Either way, I don't believe people do evil for the sake of evil. Even Genghis Kahn had a family he loved (I assume lol).
