After Redskins brand is restored could Trump order the reinstallation of the Robert E. Lee statues and the like on federal land?

Or would such a thing have to run through Congress?
We all know that even a Republican Congress doesn’t have the sack to touch this subject with a ten foot pole but we also all know that our bull in the china shop Trump is probably already thinking about it.

I would love it if he did.

We should, MAGA should get around to that, at some point.

President Trump can do it.

There is really nothing that he can't do
The opposition has suicided itself.

Trump can't make the team do anything. So there's no hope of there being a change. The team as a corporate entity has free speech rights that the government can't simply wave away by denying them a stadium deal on federal land.

True but government CAN rile up the financiers/taxpayers/fans….the fans could say “**** YOU…restore our brand or **** OFF we won’t be going to or watching the game.”

That they can. But why would they? Sports are a key part of American culture. You don't piss off sports fans and expect their votes in the fall.

Alex? Think while they were wrong to remove our history, and it would b right to restore it, that would be a political mistake to do so.

How can restoring history ever be a political mistake?

Then they can do without the fed land.

Do you know of one single Redskins fan who wouldn’t be ecstatic about restoring the name? Which “fans” would be pissed?

As much as I would love to see the Redskibs name come back, that’s not happening. The league and the owner have made that clear.

I would love to see Trump restore the statues and building bane for Confederate soldiers and officers. Far more likely to happen than the Redskins bane coming back.

You’re probably right…but it’ll be fun watching the purple hairs squirm anyway.

They’ve been preparing plans for sites other than the RFK Stadium site for years. It’s far more the fans than the team who want a new RFK home base for the team.

If it forced the team to move out of Washington, you might be surprised.
You think they’d elect to move before restoring the name?
You don’t think they talk behind closed doors about how stupid they were to allow George Floyd and purple haired nose-ringers to force them to change the name to begin with?
I bet they’d love to change the name back and blame it on Prez Trump.
