After Dems' failed insurrection at an ICE detention facility in New Jersey, Hakeem Jeffries threatens federal law enforcement with violence

I must admit that I am surprised that he didn't just say "don't".
I mean it worked so well for Brandon it must be the go-to phrase for Democrats by now....

No one is above the law.
Absolutely correct. And when someone breaks the law by attacking an ICE official, or the like, and says that Jeffries told him to do that, then you have a point. Until then it's just rhetoric.

I'm not so sure we should be cheering going down the road of jailing our political opponents....Setting precedent goes both ways...;)
It was heading down there long ago. it was Republicans in general holding it back even though they are response for some of the legislation and laws to move us into a dictatorship.

Threatening a federal officer is a serious offense under federal law, specifically covered by 18 U.S.C. § 115. It can result in imprisonment and fines, and the specific penalties depend on the nature and severity of the threat.

Key Elements of the Crime:
Penalties:
  • Simple Threat: A threat made with intent to impede, intimidate, or interfere with an official's duties can lead to imprisonment for up to 5 years.

  • Threat of Assault: A threat of assault can result in imprisonment for up to 3 years.

  • Assault on an Officer: If the threat escalates to an actual assault, the penalties can be significantly higher, including up to 10 years for an assault involving physical contact or intent to commit another felony, and up to 30 years for serious bodily injury or the use of a dangerous weapon.
Examples of Covered Threats:
  • Threats to a judge to influence their decision-making.
  • Threats to a federal law enforcement officer to intimidate them from enforcing the law.
  • Threats to a federal official's family members to retaliate for their work.

Demafasict have long thought they were above the law, they are finding out they aren’t

Newsom / Jeffries 28
Now there's a winning ticket.... ;)

Maybe I'm just an old fogie, but I'd actually like to see both sides tone it down a bit, and see if they can work together for the American people.
