As if we didn't have enough to worry about with giant murder hornets invading the US and a global pandemic, millions of 17-year cicadas will emerge from the ground this year.

I remember when the 17 year locusts came out in Maryland when I was a kid. The sound of those things in the trees was unreal.

When it happens here in Texas you go on full Copperhead alert. Especially at the base of trees.

Haven't heard them yet. They call them locusts but they don't look like grasshoppers. They are pretty neat little bugs that don't cause any harm.
