That's they were duped with Russian agit prop. They fell for the hustle so now they are forced to either be even more supportive of Trump and Putin, pretend it's not a big deal (feelings debate), or they would have to admit to being fools.
So when you wonder why the cons suddenly see Russia as a force of good...it's simply a cover for being stupid enough to fall for it.
Let's try something. Do you know why Russia didn't like Hillary? Any idea? Let's take a moment and consider. It was Hillary's State Department that approved and endorsed the idea of funneling weapons into Syria to gin up a "civil war" made up primarily of foreign fighters in the "rebels". These weapons were funneled through with a lot of assistance from the State Department. The move didn't have a damned thing to do with Assad, but had everything to do with denying the Russians access to their one Naval Base in the entire Mediterranean Sea.
Now, when this bogged down, the State Department decided to go after the next best thing, taking the Naval Base from the Russians that is located in Ukraine. This saw radical nationalists take control of the nation, and Russia promptly acted to safe their base and fought back.
Weapons funneled from Libya to Syria.
The Benghazi outrage we actually should be talking about
Hillary and Obama and the Democrats essentially declared war on Russia, and are mad that Russia refused to be defeated in Syria, and then took the base in Ukraine, and then fought back smart. All the billions of dollars to fight the Russians in Syria, all the effort, lost. Then the same result in Ukraine, and now defeated in the ballot box at home.
Sun Tzu would approve. But let's take the last part of your post shall we? I mean, now we understand why Russia would be pissed. We would have bombed the crap out of Russia if they had ginned up a bunch of terrorist groups and threatened our Naval Bases, but we're moving along. What "agit prop" did they release? The Hackers, if they were Russians, and I wouldn't doubt that they would have plenty of reason, released the truth.
Now, I don't understand something. Perhaps you can help me. The job of a Journalist is to report the facts, report the truth. The job of a voter is to weigh the information available, and make the best decision possible in the voting booth. To make that good decision, the voter needs access to information, truthful information. So the horrible thing that the hackers did was tell the truth. This is the propaganda you decry. The truth.
When did we become terrified of the truth? When did we become outraged because someone spoke the truth? What the hell happened to our nation that we claim that truth is propaganda?
One of my longstanding complaints about Hillary is based on her record. She keeps trying to do things and manage these clever plans. Unfortunately, she's always just short of clever enough to make them actually work. No matter how much she screws up, everyone says she's got great experience. We know Hillary is Corrupt, and all the Hackers did was expose the corruption going on in the DNC and the Clinton Campaign. Did it make a difference? Perhaps a tiny difference. All it did was prove to those who already believed that Hillary and the DNC were corrupt. It was proof of the image that the DNC and Hillary had already created. A sense of entitlement, and that the DNC existed solely to get Hillary elected. It exposed the sham primary where a handful of also ran candidates were supposed to give the illusion that Hillary was the choice by a wide margin.
The job is to represent the people, and we can't choose our representative unless we know the truth about them, and what they've done. That's all the Hackers did, confirm to those who already believed that Hillary was corrupt, that Hillary was in fact corrupt.
