The bigger and more embarrassing fact is that light-skinned Black women - and especially the ones with caucasian features (nose, lips, hair) - are the "white people" of the Black community. "Don't ya just love being in the same demographic group as Halle Berry and Kamala Harris?"
Parenthetically, articles such as the linked one foster the ever-more-obvious perception that this whole anti-racism campaign is little more than an entire (minus a few) race of people competing with one another to see which ones can claim the greater amount of grievance.
And this goes on after a 60 year campaign to remove every tangible, measurable manifestation of racism in the country, including an open invitation to Black folks to seek entry into prestigious academic institutions, high-level government positions, valuable employment in both the public and private sectors. And that doesn't even count the nearly infinite amount of money that has been gifted to Black people (unconstitutionally, one might add) in the form of monthly welfare stipends, food stamps, housing subsidies, free and subsidized medical care, and - like it or not - police protection.
We white folks are told emphatically that even with all of this so-called "progress" living in the U.S. is still a nightmare for Black folks.
Bullshit. Opportunities abound, and Blacks are making excuses for failing to avail themselves, then blaming their own failures on ******. Bullshit and double-bullshit.
