Thanks gun culture:
8 Dead, Several Others Shot At Pittsburgh Synagogue
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police from across the city of Pittsburgh responding to an active shooting situation at the The Tree of Life Synagogue in Squirrel Hill.
KDKA’s Andy Sheehan reports that at eight people have been confirmed dead. Other have been shot but we don’t know the extent of their injuries.
Meanwhile in countries with strong gun control, mass shootings are very rare.
The ONLY solution to the gun problem is to get rid of all guns, which will NEVER happen.
We need better laws. The Swiss have lots of guns, but they actually have strong gun laws.
Again, a false comparison.
The United States has an inherently violent culture, where violence is condoned and sanctioned.
From corporal punishment in our schools to stand your ground laws in many states to capital punishment in our justice system, violence is accepted as a means of both deterrence and punishment.
Gun crime and violence in Switzerland is virtually non-existent because Swiss culture is not predisposed to violence, unlike the United States; not because of their gun laws and policies.
More firearm regulatory measures won’t address the actual problem of America’s acceptance of violence and the violent nature of its society.
