Brown University already has strict weapons prohibition policies. No firearms, regardless of whether the person has a permit or not, no knives with a blade longer than three inches.

But the good news is that they allow the possession and/or use of disabling chemical sprays when used for self-defense. Or one can just carry a banana. Those have been known to disable an attacker at up to 60 feet, according to an ad I saw on television.
