Lately, it seems like it has become common to see news stories involving the arrest of teachers who are being charged with sexual abuse and misconduct involving their students, some of whom are as young as 11 years old. Schools are expected to be a safe environment for children, but these...
In a way that does not surprise me. Pedophiles are going to be attracted to positions of trust that put them in close contact with children but you shouldn’t discount churches. It isn’t just the Catholic Church but other religious ministries as well that have trouble with this. 4% of Catholic priests in the US were accused of child molestation though the number is probably because boys are far more reluctant to speak out.
Once again, the lying right wing piece of shit has nothing so she goes straight for more lies and insults. When you can't attack the post, you attack the poster, every single time.
Denial is not just a river in Egypt.
How many billions of dollars has the Catholic Church paid out to the victims of the priesthood?

In Canada, they sexually abused young girls at the residential schools and then murdered the babies the girls gave birth to as a result. The Church hasn't even so much as apologized for these atrocities, much less compensated the victims - something that every other religious denomination has done.

True, but it is a problem with any venue that puts children in the trust of adults. In the past few years we’ve been hearing about horrendous abuses in athletic coaching that got covered up because the coach was more valuable than the victims. I’m not sure if it has actually increased or if people are more willing to report it since the victim used to be blamed and disparaged.

Wherever it happens it needs to stop and trying to say one side is worse than the other is wrong. I'm Catholic and I was one of the first to say I was livid over what happened. Still am, there are a couple of educators on this forum who's heads are still in the sand

How does the Catholic church have anything to do with this topic? Given your position on sexual activity and children, and how it should be promoted and taught, I'd think you'd be giving the Catholics church a standing ovation for their forward thinking on the topic.
Pornographic filth and treating human beings as sexual objects in every social construct is what the core of the problem is, but your side of the political aisle promotes it unabashedly. I recall the foaming at the mouth about how morals derived from religious dogma should not be pushed on society at large, well you got your way, and now there's nothing but filth for children to grow up looking at, it's thrown at them from every angle.

As I recall it is your side that still supports child marriage, forbids teaching children of reproductive age how NOT to get pregnant or get STD’s then condemns them as sluts when they do.
Your religious dogma called for stoning women who had sex outside of marriage, it created some of the most vile institutions to punish unwed mothers and inflict that same stigma on their children. Your religious dogma blamed the woman for transgression while the man remained blameless. So…seriously, just take your religious dogma and stuff it because all it seems to be doing is increasing rates of teen pregnancy and STD’s.

Your entire post is a lie, where the hell do you people come up with your garbage? If you have to lie to make your point, you really should examine your position on the topic, and where that position was derived from, but that would take maturity and intelligence.
I grew up in a Christian household, nobody that I've known throughout my entire life has ever supported child marriage. They have been teaching how not to get pregnant and about STD's for decades, my own mother educated me on both of those topics.
Stoning women who had sex outside of marriage?? And you expect to be taken seriously??
Yeah, now we celebrate teen sex and children outside of marriage everywhere on media, social and otherwise, that's working out really well. What are the teen pregnancy rates today compared to 20-30 years ago??
