The school had a fund raiser to help the poor in Africa, but the ACLU found out that the organization they were working with had worked with a Christian organization in the past.
Even though the money was not even going to any religious organization and would have simply purchased food for the poor, the ACLU couldn't bear the thought of the school children being only two degrees of separation from Christians. They put a stop to the school's fund raisers. The liberal ACLU won. The poor children in Africa lost. The school, fearing the ACLU would come after them for breaking the law, immediately stopped the fund raising efforts. I am sure the ACLU people are breathing a sigh of relief knowing that school children came close to dealing with an organization that also cooperated with Christians. Whew! That was close. Of course, the Christian organization will still help the African children since the ACLU hasn't found a way to stop them.
Meanwhile, the children were taught that people who even associate with Christians should never be involved with schools. Well, done, ACLU. So glad you are on top of these things because children could have gotten the wrong idea about charities who are willing to work with Christian organizations. They may have thought it was all about feeding those children, but the ACLU set them straight. From now on, those children will know to check before offering to help charities. If the organization is Christian or one that doesn't discriminate against religions, it's better to do nothing than work with them.
Funny thing is that the organization behind the efforts was not religious. Only people who are deliberately looking for connections will even find one. They had to dig deep to discover that the organization had an association with a religious group. And they acted like that was some sort of crime that made the organization unfit to lead the school's fundraising efforts.
