Furthermore, the President declared a National Emergency. This legislation exists so that the federal government and FEMA can take over the response to an emergency which is national in scope. Trump used his authority as President to refuse the WHO test and have the CDC make their own. Now he says everything is up to the states.

"I alone can fix this", is now "No, I don't take any responsibility at all".

March 1st was the first NY case of Covid. March 7th Governor declares a state emergency. March 10th New Rochelle 1 mile containment zone, March 11th closes state education, March 13 waived 1 week waiting time on unemployment, March 14 FIRST DEATH, March 16 entire state shuts down including local schools.

Let's be honest, Gator...the reason this pandemic was as bad as it was...was because the Chinese screwed the rest of the world! What they were telling us and everyone else back in December was total bullshit! At the same time they were banning travel from Wu Han to other parts of China...they were letting international flights leave Wu Han going to all parts of the globe without any indication how dangerous this virus was! While they were telling the rest of the world that the virus couldn't be passed easily from person to person contact they were buying up as much personal protective gear as they could!
My point about mass transit is that it puts the population it serves at risk. Forget about pandemics. If you're a terrorist bent of causing as much pain to an enemy as possible...mass transit systems will always be high on your list of targets.
