The reference to a flood in the "Epic of Gilgamesh" is the flood of Noah, not a different flood. Gilgamesh meets a Noah-like character that survived the great flood. Note that the story is not even a myth, but a fable. And the injection of this character and the flood seems entirely out of place in the story.

The absence of the duckbilled platypus in the Ark shows the flood did not cover the Earth

Gilgamesh flood myth is only one of many from Mesopotamia.
Eridu genesis (sumerian and older than the epic of gilgamesh) talks about one of the gods directing someone to build a big boat and save all the animal species and the seed of mankind.
Abraham, the father of judaism, was from Sumeria :)
I figure Sumeria is where we get the tales of adam and eve, the serpent etc, as well. All the cool stories in the bible were just ripped off.
The desert savages that authored the bible were not very original lol.

This also places Noah's flood prior to the tale of Gilgamesh.

All such flood stories are based on Noah's flood. It's a common historical myth among even aboriginal peoples.

Abraham was the great grandfather of Judah, not the founder of Judaism. Judaism is basically the "oral history/traditions" of the law according to the Jews and likely began as early as the days of King Rehoboam.

No, noahs flood is a rip off of others.
Abraham is considered the father of judaism.

There is evidence for several major floods in the Mesopotamian region however, which may explain such stories. Similar sudden floods occurred in the Black Sea region as well that could also be a basis for it.

Now I have a weird image of Below Decks: Noah's Ark. :26:

I believe eridu was a local flood story. "the river flood" or something of that nature.

Worldwide flood actually happened

At the current rate, what would be left of Pacific Palisades in 100, 1,000 or 10,000 years?

wrong again

Wrong again.
He was the first Jew.
Jews are the descendants of Judah, Abraham's great grandson. Abraham was a Hebrew, grandson of Eber.

They did get it wrong, still do.

Both the Jews and the Israelites broke their covenant with God, but only the Israelites have reestablished it, through the New Covenant.
