Abhorrent behavior has been normalized.

A judge ordered President Trump to pay $2 million to a group of charities on Thursday, ruling that the president had broken the law by directing the proceeds from an event advertised as benefiting veterans to his presidential campaign instead.

What actually happened, from the article you linked:

Though the campaign took charge of the $2.8 million raised at the fundraiser — in violation of the law, which restricted it to the foundation — the money did eventually make its way to veterans groups, as promised. The $2 million Trump was ordered to pay on Thursday, meanwhile, will go to organizations like the United Negro College Fund and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Another NY Judge and prosecutor decided to get some. More lawfare.

Open the Clinton Foundation's books and see how much paperwork mistakes are found there.

Sucks to be you.

Donald J. Trump Pays Court-Ordered $2 Million For Illegally Using Trump Foundation Funds

Democrats required.
Democrats ordered.
Of course. No dispute there. Democrats stole the royalties from a best seller. This is their manufactured justification.

It's very much like civil forfeited laws.

Many of Trump's have been indicted. Wait.............are you alleging another deep state conspiracy theory?
Alternate electors are not illegal.

Indictments from leftard Soros prosecutors mean nothing.

Big yawn on the rest.

Trump is famously litigious. If he hadn't broken the law he would not have admitted it as part of the agreement with NY. Trying to blame his lawlessness on Dems is more than pathetic.

All of the United States’ most important governing institutions are failing at once.
Congress, of course, has long been barely able to function. Every year, it struggles merely to fund the rest of the government, and the risk that it will trigger a debt ceiling breach that would set the global economy on fire is alarmingly large.
The Republican Party has atrophied into a cult of personality, centered around an authoritarian who literally tried to overthrow the duly elected United States government. The Democratic Party, meanwhile, may be unable to dislodge a senescent leader who is no longer capable of making the case against his imperious opponent.
And then there’s the Supreme Court, perhaps the only branch of the United States government that is capable of speaking in complete sentences right now. But the most recent Supreme Court term, which ended last week, makes one thing clear: Don’t confuse the Court’s relative eloquence for competence.

The justices are barely able to manage their own docket, even though it’s been shrinking for decades. They publish incompetently drafted decisions that sow confusion throughout the judiciary, then refuse to accept responsibility when those decisions lead to ridiculous and immoral outcomes. They take liberties with the facts of their cases, and they can’t even be trusted to read the plain text of an unambiguous statute correctly. In just the last few years, they’ve overruled so many seminal precedents that law professors no longer know how to teach their classes.
If the justices did not wield such awesome power, and if lawyers who practice before them did not have to treat them with ritualized obsequiousness, most of the justices would be laughingstocks. Few people this famous are so ostentatiously bad at their jobs.

Along with Trump's the SC's incompetence is now the new normal as well.

There's no use litigating a rigged trial.

In short, his deviant behavior has not only become normalized due to sheer volume, but that normalization has spread throughout the party. And it's even often celebrated.

I've been wondering since 2016 -- is this some kind of strategy he learned early on and consciously uses to his benefit, like implementing a plan, or this just the way he is?

Regardless, I've seen standards fade down over a period of time in a variety of areas in this country, but never have I seen standards drop this far, this completely and this quickly. Who knew how prescient his "Fifth Avenue" rule would turn out to be.
We elected a malignant narcissist as president. The orange bag O' shit never changed. The country did to suit his tendencies. It is indeed 'just the way he is'.

When media folks describe discussions among Democrats as chaos and disarray, they are implicitly suggesting that it is better for a leader of a party to never be questioned. (Why, after all, is being part of an array a good thing?) An obvious point goes missed: Democrats can say what they want, because none of them is afraid. And that is good! Governor Maura Healey can express her dissent and Joe Biden can express his frustration with her — but no one is worried about her physical safety.

Trump, by contrast, controls his party through stochastic terror, threats issued through social media that his cult followers can be expected to realize. Republicans leave politics because they fear for themselves and their families. Those who remain all obey in advance. That is new, and it should not be normal, and it should not spread any further. But it becomes normal when we treat discussions, and not coercion, as abnormal.

If I am right that much of the energy behind the Biden pile-on is displaced fear of a regime change, much of the media will continue to generate fascist froth for Trump, whether or not Biden is the Democratic nominee — unless, of course, journalists confront their fears, and keep the issue of regime change inside the story, and provide a constructive alternative alongside personal criticism.

Obviously, an honest discussion among Repubs about Don's lack of fitness for the office he seeks is not possible. Anyone who broaches the subject will be treated as a heretic.

Trump Appoints Fake Elector As Campaign Advisor In Nevada, A State He Still Claims He Won In 2020

Donald Trump named election denier and indicted fake elector Michael McDonald as senior advisor to his Nevada campaign earlier this week, signaling that the battleground state will continue to be an area of Big Lie fixation if the Republican loses the state in November.

McDonald was one of six Republicans accused of falsely certifying the results of the 2020 election in Nevada in favor of Trump, despite the fact that Joe Biden won the state by more than 30,000 votes. A Nevada state court dismissed the criminal indictment in June of this year, but in response, Democratic Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford has pledged to appeal the decision.

As recently as last month, Trump, during an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal, repeated lies about the 2020 election in Nevada, claiming that he won the state: “And I really believe that bad things happened. … I really think we did incredibly, and we, somehow the vote wasn’t there. But I believe we won very strongly, by a lot.”

It could be the first reaction among The Following to a story such as this is "why are you bothering with such trivial matters?" That's the point.

Admittedly, hiring someone who had his criminal indictment dropped on a technicality to work as a campaign advisor is small potatoes compared to the act of trying to steal an election. Though McDonald was a participant in that act. It's indicative of a recognition there is no political price to be paid for rewarding traitors. Or supporting them as Don has done with the imprisoned members of his 1/6 mob in return for their service to him. That's revolutionary.

Personally, I don't think being a divorcee should be a political death warrant like it used to be. But a criminal conviction should. So too should being found liable for sexual assault by a jury. Stealing from a charity.....you're done. But no longer.

It's all acceptable now. You can schtoink a pornographic film star months after your wife gave birth to your child, brag on tape about getting away with grabbing women's vajayjay's, and be sued for insulting the woman you raped. You can surround yourself with criminals, be one yourself, stand idly by as your supporters physically threaten members of the legal system, and use a mug shot to solicit donations.

Not acceptable for everyone though. Good luck getting elected mayor of a small town with that resume. Bankruptcies, being sued for fraud, defamation, cheating on tax returns, settling a race discrimination suit, defending war criminals, rape, those are disqualifying liabilities for all but one person. Only Don's supporters know why they aren't for him.
And here I thought you were talking about the democrat push to normalize pedophiles.
