Do you guys ever feel as if putting so much energy into very heated hostile arguments, often that turn personal and nasty, is quite pointless? I mean, think about it. Left wingers on here, you agree that the Right wingers cannot be reasoned with and will ignore whatever points you make, yes? And Right wingers, you agree that the Left wingers on here cannot be reason with and will ignore whatever points you make, yes? So why bother? You'll end up feeling bitter and negative. The illusory and fleeting feeling of having won some nebulous debate against a faceless person online isn't worth it. I'm not saying that you shouldn't care about politics. If you do or don't is up to you. I'm just saying that...maybe it would be better for us to really just sort of...keep it to ourselves?

I get where you are coming from, but if everything was kept under wraps, no one would ever learn anything new or even old anymore. My most favorite singer, Mason Ramsey, is learning more and more about music from before his time every day.

I don't think it pays much. Look at some of the people who sit here for 20 hours a day. There is one guy here who must get only 3 hours of sleep. If that.

But having forums like this is better than not having them. You might remember a few years ago when all the big newz outlets cut off their comments sections. That was because conservatives were skewering their articles. Instead of upping their game, these lib websites just cut off conversation.

The websites now tightly control the comments. They try to control people like me here, but I just keep coming back for more laughs!

People may not learn much, but in this day and age especially, becoming aware of whatever is going on around you is not only a smart thing, but it can also save lives.

If people are too over the top just put them on ignore, that function actually works well here, it makes a big difference and pretty much removes them from your view. Most people are really nice though.
