Dorothy Klenke Nash was America's first female neurosurgeon. She earned that distinction through her outstanding skills and personality, and in spite of the fact that she was a woman. Without question she is a role model, a shining example of someone who dramatically rose above expectations, and her story can be in inspiration to anyone, especially young women, as they enter into fields, positions, and roles that have not been held by women before.
The second woman is currently at the top of the headlines, and one only needs to see her name to bring to mind who she is and what makes her noteworthy: Katanji Brown Jackson. She has now been elevated to the position of United States Supreme Court justice because of the fact that she is a Black woman.
The pathetic, old white man who anointed the latter woman did her (and all Black people) a disservice when he announced his intentions in advance, rather than at least making an argument that she was the best qualified person for the job - which is customary for Supreme Court nominees.
Sadly, the benefit of her presence on the court is non-existent. Her role is to apply the law to the facts of each case, and ensure that the law, as implemented in that case, passes Constitutional muster. Her personal demographics and history must have no bearing on her decisions; if they do then she is a fraud.
Sadly as well is the fact that the ONLY reason she was really appointed was that the President and his Leftist handlers presume that she will be a mindless, knee-jerk Leftist on the Court for forty years or so, and that she will never think independently, or do anything outside the Leftist Narratives of the day.
All hail Dorothy Klenke Nash, a true woman pioneer. The other woman, not so much.
