"According to the scientific data we have so far, the Omikron strain is much more transmissible than the Delta strain, but it seems that the virulence is much lower, which could mean the beginning of the end of the pandemic. The Delta strain is still dominant in Romania and Europe," Florin Rosu, head of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Iasi, said Wednesday.
