Romney will approve of his pick because Utah Mormons will demand it. They are a bunch of pro-lifer nazis. All Trump has to do is nominate one, and Romney will be bound.

I get it this is one of those Hillary is going to win moments
McSally is more like Hillary
Unlikeable.

Kelly s a hero
Kelly comes across like a snake oil salesman on his commercials.

Collins is beat either way...

Romney and Murkowski will cave just like Graham. If they cost us a seat on the Supreme Court they'll be history faster than you can say banana split. It's a political decision, not an ethical conundrum. They'll do the calculus and come to the politically expedient conclusion. You know it and I know it.
You forget one small item. The Republicans voted in the art of the Filibuster. And the Dems can tie it up for the next few months that way each and every time it comes to the floor. With the Senate, basically, coming to a screeching halt anyway, who would even notice that it's not doing anything. At least some noise would be coming from the Senate floor.
1. The hearings will be before the election.
2. The senate vote will be after the election
3. Trump's pick will be seated no matter how the senate majority turns out, there is no filibuster for confirmations. Thank you Harry Reid.
Do you think McConnell has the votes after the election?
Yes, after the election the Republican senators have no reason to vote against ACB.
Before the election some senators in tight races don't want to rile moderate (hopefully "Law & Order") voters.
Very true

We don’t know what their frame of mind or political loyalties will be after the election.

Mitt Romney would probably still be anti Trump
Murkowsky has already said she doesn’t want to reverse her position in 2016..... let the people decide who fills the seat
Collins will be interesting.....She definitely won’t vote before the election. If she loses she may go either way.

If Kelly wins in Arizona, he can take his seat in November
And he can say high to the already seated SCOTUS judge.

The people did decide. In 2016.

So go fuck yourself......we voted for someone through the end of 2020 and the last I checked we are still there.

I see you're not a math major
Now the GOP has a 53-47 advantage in the Senate
When Kelly gets seated, even as early as November 30th, even assuming Murkowski still votes with the democrats, Romney, Collins, and Grassley would not. so even after Kelly is seated the senate is still 51-49 GOP until January.
Collins, Murkowski, Romney, Kelly = 4
The vote on ACB will be before Kelly is seated, November 30th at the earliest, probably in January.
Romney is an "aye"
So its 51-49

51 votes will do, there is no need for 60 thanks to Harry Reid ending the filibuster.

Moscow Mitch changed the rules in 2016. Now wants to change them again to suit Trump.
This blatant display isn't just hypocrisy, it's sheer corruption.
Moscow Mitch can't come back after that and say bullshit like 2016 had a lame duck POTUS and a GOP Senate.
I'm stunned that stupid idiotic cons go along with this.
What "rules" did McConnell change in 2016 and what rules is he changing now?
Yeah he uses the word "rules" like a multi tool.

Nothing illegal is taking place they're just trying to appeal to what they think it's a sense of fair play forgetting already what kind of treachery they pulled with the impeachment bullshit.

The GOP has not forgotten.

And it gets worse:
Ouch! Three Astronauts Endorse AZ’s GOP Senator Over Her Astronaut Senate Challenger.

1601835791641.png

As former fighter pilots and test pilots, we know what it takes to get in the cockpit of a fighter jet for a test flight or combat: incredible determination, strength and grit.
That’s why we support Sen. Martha McSally. As the first woman in U.S. history to fly a fighter jet in combat and command a fighter squadron, she broke barriers in the Air Force and the military.
We remember a not-so-distant past when the Air Force wouldn’t let women fly in combat. Instead of sitting down accepting the status quo, McSally stood up, fought for change and made strides for generations of women to follow her.
“Integrity first, Service before self, Excellence in all we do.” That Air Force motto guided McSally’s time in uniform and embodies the way she continues to serve our country by representing Arizona in the Senate.
It continues:
McSally delivered results for Arizona. Just look at the stats:
She was ranked as one of the most bipartisan senators last year and tied for the most bills passed into law. Just this year, she introduced legislation to lower the cost of prescription drugs, started the national Veterans Treatment Courts to help improve the lives of veterans, and she helped write the legislation that gave families and small businesses help to get through the novel coronavirus.
Whether it’s helping secure funds for Fort Huachuca, leading on the Drought Contingency Plan or getting Congress to pass land exchanges that give local control back to Arizona, Martha springs into action when her constituents reach out to her with a problem.
While Martha’s record of accomplishments is long and well-documented, her opponent’s positions are largely unknown.
And here’s the stinging rebuke of the former astronaut and husband of former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.), who’re both unashamed gun-grabbers:
Just like Mark Kelly, we were astronauts. We know what it takes to climb aboard a spacecraft, we’ve done it many times. We’ve flown in the Gemini and Apollo projects, walked on the moon, and combined we’ve spent many days in space. As astronauts and veterans, we honor the service of every single American who has served their country alongside us.
‘Astronaut’ can’t hide Kelly’s leftist agenda

But having “astronaut” on your resume does not mean you’d be a good U.S. senator. Mark Kelly is hoping Arizonans are so impressed with his background that they ignore the fact that he’s supported radical gun control activists, that his plan for the eventual government takeover of health care would end Medicare as we know it, and that he’d vote to raise our taxes.

SILENCE IS VIOLENCE

On some of the more extreme policies of the Democrat Party, Mark has tried to stay quiet. We can only think of one reason: He doesn’t want to answer for his liberal political views and policies and those of his party.

Frankly, this new Democrat Party is unrecognizable to us. If you told us even one decade ago ideas like police defunding, open borders, ICE abolishment, government-controlled health care, the Green New Deal and major tax increases would be mainstream among Democrats, we wouldn’t have believed you.

But here we are.

The op-ed ends with this flourish:

Mark Kelly has to answer for the policies of his party because if he were elected, that’s what would become law in a Democrat-controlled government. They’re planning on taking away the filibuster — the higher vote threshold to pass legislation — to push through their agenda over the objections of hundreds of millions of Americans. This is not hypothetical. Democrats laid out their strategy in plain sight.
McSally has delivered for Arizona, while Mark Kelly embraces Democrat ideology that would be bad for our country — leaving us with less freedoms, less security and less control of our lives.
FROM COCHISE TO GERONOMO TO MCSALLY, ARIZONIANS ARE FIGHTERS FOR FREEDOM
We know McSally is the fighter Arizona and our country need for this defining moment for future generations. The choice for November is clear, and that’s why we are supporting Sen. Martha McSally.
Kelly once boasted an astounding 17 points — from August 29 through September 1, now down to 6 points as pollsters window dress for the election.

The FIGHTING senator’s national profile got a boost in January, when CNN’s dishonest “Fredo” Cuomo, the dumbest of all the Cuomo's, made an underhanded attack on her, after McSally took Manu Raju, one of the network’s hack reporters, to task, as Sister Toldjah wrote. Sen. McSally didn’t take the unfair moves by the fake news folks sitting down, either, and both Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and conservative radio personality and Fox News host Mark Levin had her six.

Mark Kelly, when your fellow astronauts openly dissing you in front of the whole world, that ain’t a good sign.

All Obama had to do to fill the open positions was to nominate people who were acceptable to both parties. That's the way it was always done when the presidency and senate were split.
