I got a phone call by Carrefour in France..
(that's a French supermarket akin to Shoprite in the northeast USA)...

I told the manager that I cant take the job.
He asked me why.
This is what I told him...

At just the tip of the iceberg, I would have to commute across the Atlantic ocean.
I'm not a citizen of France and I don't have authorization to work in France.
I don't understand the French language..

And your country's politics doesn't work for me, we're not only much too different, but your government keeps and maintains policies that are illegal here in the USA where I'm at, and also disadvantageous, outdated, utterly ineffective, and inferior for me.

I knew a guy that married a Frenchie. They resided in France for a few years before moving to the States.

He said that he learned French by working in a retail store. He just immersed himself in the culture and the language.

I thought that was pretty cool.
