A general question because I am new to this, if in the 1960s 10000 people walked to the U.S border would they have been allowed entry?

Complete unadulterated BS.

Completely true. You consume media that is lying to you. Or you simply don't understand what is going on. IDK. Most of these people are not illegal aliens. They are here legally.

The issue is that people have figured out American law. All you have to do is show up and claim asylum regardless if you are truly being politically persecuted. About 80% of the people who claim asylum have their cases denied. But the system is so backlogged, they won't get a hearing until the 2030s. They figure that they'll take a chance and hope that the law changes in the many years they are here.

Let's use a similar comparable, so instead of being from China, Iran and Mexico, they were from Russia, East Germany and Mexico. Would they have been allowed entry into the United States?

If the 10,000 were allowed, how about six million in three years?

If not, what has changed in your laws since then to allow 10s of millions into your country in such a manner?

Here's what it comes down to.

If you go back to that time, 90% of the population was white, and an even higher percentage of politicians were white. Americans would have been overwhelmingly pro-secured borders, and politicians would have made sure they got their way.

In a nutshell, Americans wouldn't have stood for what is happening now.

The adults were the WWII generation, and those people would have quickly ended any "surge" at the border.

Good God Almighty but you are a dumbass. Yes, these people are going through the legal process of applying for asylum. And they are entering through a port of entry. No razor wire in the Rio Grande is going to stop them.

Don't like what is happening, then amend the asylum application process. The current bill, before Congress, does precisely that.

Read the damn link, I know you won't. But if that bill was in effect the border would be effectively closed. And Biden has agreed to sign it. But oh no, the mighty Trumpster doesn't want anything to be done so he can continue to hammer the issue. He doesn't give two shits about you, two shits about the border. are even two shits about this country. And obviously, the border situation isn't that bad, since the nutless Congress critters that support Trump are more than willing to kill a good deal that is addressing the problem.

The bill on the table limits the time period for completing an asylum request to six months. Biden will sign it, Trump is opposed.

So interesting how Joe has changed his tune, in just 8 months......................................
