A former teacher shot by student, 6, wins $10M jury verdict against ex-assistant principal

Wow, took 3 years to settle the case Assistant principal fought them every step of the way

The lawsuit said Parker had a duty to protect Zwerner and others from harm after being told about the gun. Zwerner’s attorneys said Parker failed to act in the hours before the shooting after several school staff members told her that the student had a gun in his backpack.

The teacher is white, the assistant principal is black, and the 6 year old who brought the gun to school and shot the teacher is black. Had a Black teacher been shot by a white 6 year old student after numerous concerns voiced to a white assistant principal who did nothing, there would have been been “violence in the streets”.

This day in age any student suspected by a teacher to have weapons needs to be taken seriously.

My only question is was the child allowed to return to that school after the shooting took place? I remember reading that he was allowed to come back as if nothing ever happened. To me, that kid should've been placed in a juvenile mental facility if there is one.

God bless you and his victim always!!!

What's the point of a $10,000,000.00 verdict against someone on a teacher's salary?

The child in question was 6 yrs old at the time. Obviously didn't know what he/she was doing. Look to the parents and whether the pistol was legally registered and hold the parents legally responsible especially in this case.

^^^ The boy's mom is currently serving a two-year sentence for her child negligence. The question is with her in jail, what is going on these days with the boy?

God bless you always!!!
