I ran into an old coworker in the supermarket and he is in full-on panic mode over his 401k. I know he voted for Trump but now he is skittish about the market. I told him not to panic but he is panicking. I hope this works itself out.
Don't panic, don't sell.

The only people who are hurt by stock market dips are panicky know-nothings who take early distributions from their 401K Plans and pay the associated taxes and penalties. (If they really need the money they can borrow up to $50,000 and pay it back over five years.) Required Minimum Distributions after retirement age are actually quite small (~4%) and will be made up when the market rebounds.
