Yeah, I read about that. Is there anything we can do about it that will actually work? I have to be honest here, I do not trust the IPCC or any of these other organizations that are pushing this narrative. The issue has become so politicized, and past projections have been so wrong so why should I accept this latest warning of gloom and doom?




Here's where we find common ground. Not a lot of talk about this though, and by 'constructive' do you mean 'effective'? What will the consequences of any adaptation plan be? And what's the timeline for action? I doubt we'll see major coastal cities under water in the next year or so.

The earth's orbit around the Sun is not exactly circular. It's oblique. (Egg shaped)

On top of this even the oblique orbit has a rotation that too is oblique....meaning that our distance from the sun is constantly in motion. This planet is moving in a minimum of 10 directions at time...possibly more but it's difficult to tell because there are no stationary points in space...everything is in motion.

Meanwhile our upper atmosphere is constantly bleeding off any heat developed on the earth's atmosphere into the vastness of space. (Which hasn't gotten any warmer yet)

And there has yet to be a climate model that accounts for all of these parameters yet.

Where I'm all in favor of efficiency and lowering pollutants....I'm not in favor of knee jerk solutions to problems that have not been clearly established or causes identified.

Sure, we can blame human birth rates on stork migration patterns...but correlation does not equal causation.

Without any details the OP boils down to we need to have enough money to address whatever might happen with zero concept or expression of what that 'whatever' is. It's a bad faith pro-growth argument under the guise somehow being climate policy related. If they are going to introduce the spectre of climate change and offer up that we will just have to adapt well then what exactly do they think we are adapting to make sense of their solutions? Everyone just needs to be richer and extracting even more of the remaining finite resources of the planet and somehow the resultant capital with magically fix the follow-on effects.

The problem with your premise is that converting to ALL wind, solar, hydro and other presumed 'green' energy is not at all environmentally helpful. The mining necessary to go into massively more huge lithium batteries is anything but environmentally neutral. It is environmentally awful, destructive, ugly. And the metals mined are very much more limited in quantity than are fossil fuels with coal being the most plentiful carbon based fuel on Earth. Just 3 years ago, the world was using more than 90% carbon based fuels despite all the solar fields and wind farms and nuclear and other 'green' energy initiatives.

And there is no guarantee or even any evidence at all that eliminating use of fossil fuels will reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere by any significant amount.

I shudder to think what a premature and ill advised mandate to go ALL green energy for the USA will do to our quality of life and the long range effects on the Earth itself.

The world is not ready to go all electric and moving away from fossil fuels should be natural, careful and figured out by the private sector and not by government fiat.
