A 25% tariff may end up being beneficial for Canada as it will force citizens to demand accountability of abusive spending

Much like America has the newly formed DOGE, a 25% tariff would force Canada to access their funding priorities. In places like Ontario we over fund the Security Industrial Complex to such a degree that Ontario citizens need to know how behind we are. Billions for the SIC while our entrepreneurs and innovators leave.

Trump may be doing Canada a favour in the long run.

Trudeau is going to do whatever Trump wants him to do. If Trudeau is a good boy and stops the invasion from the north, Trump will include Canada in a nice trade agreement with Mexico, the USA.
The choice is up to your socialist/WEF/representative...

You have lost your mind.

You really are dumb. That tariff won't do the things you say.

I think we need to pay a tariff to recover the lost civil liberties and human rights that have been stolen for so many decades. Nothing will shed the light on the theft the S.I.C have engaged in than an economy that is void of any resistance since we don't innovate and we lose our best talent.

What would you think of some western provinces joining the US?
We are going to succeed or fail as a nation. America may considering purchasing assets in places like Ontario and Quebec for pennies on the dollar. These provinces are in massive debt so they will be forced to liquidate unfortunately. The police apparatus will be healthy and grow of course, that's a given in Canada.

It is sad to see but the reality that Canada has a debt problem like the U.S but little to show for it. The average citizen here makes $22k LESS a year.

No offense intended, but how are you going to succeed as a nation with Quebec in the middle? Those guys would sell you out in a minute if you stopped dancing to their tune.

Ontario is worse unfortunately.

It means Canada will sell more to China, and US exports to Canada will go to shit.

This is what caused many of our problems, we tried for many years to "diversify" from the U.S market. China just took our jobs in the process.

There was an arrogance about us, which is what centralized states always become and it never matters the political party in power. Now Canadians realize how good we have had it and we are frightened of these tariffs.

We have mocked America for decades even as we make $22k less per citizen and lack the innovation of any First World nation. Now we understand the consequences. The Police State will continue to expand but our economy and influence will not.

As I said, a good 10-25% tariff will wake the Ontario citizen up and maybe civil liberties will reign over a docile, obedient population of subjects ruled by the creepy covert ones.

Those things have not happened.

lol. Who flew to Mara Logo in a heart beat, to kiss the ring, after he heard the tariff news?!

We buy most of what Canada produces. Close the border or peddle your wares somewhere else.
Now, which is the better solution for Canada?
Trudeau didn't do that.

You know nothing.

As you say to may "stay in your lane, you know nothing. You don't have to live with the consequences we do"

We don’t pay Trump’s tariffs dummy. AMERICANS pay the tariffs.

Trump cannot levy taxes on other countries. When I sell my goods to Americans, THEY pay the tariff. Not me.

I get my full sale price, they pay extra to import it.

This. You are correct and you realize it, but so few Canadians do. All we've heard here is vitriol and snobbery from Canadians for years. Screw that, and forget Canada. We'll do what's best for us now.

You’ve always done what’s best for you and screwed over Canada at every opportunity.

“Vitriol and snobbery”??? An apt description of your post and your condescending attitude.

No one trusts you any more because you’ve just elected a convicted felon who promises to tear up all the deals he made last time he was in office.

Yes, he made bad deals which destroyed your world trade. But you elected this buffoon. And now you’ve done it again.

The WORLD is laughing at you, Sour Sue. How could you be so stupid!

Well, when you say "what is best", tariffs are generally going to impact the consumer negatively, they are best used against serial and dangerous trade violators such as China, Mexico or even countries who don't enforce bribery laws very strongly. The WTO has lost its credibility, as most institutions China becomes too strong in. The U.S has to decide if they are going to alter bad behavior or just cause more prices for U.S consumers. If tariffs aren't going to.alter Canadian behavior based on perceived trade abuses (which is not being raised here) than I dont see the point unless he is looking for a government revenue source as we are NOT a major problem on our border. From the human rights standpoint, when Trump was saying "you will save 60% in taxes and companies will double" what he should have included was, "citizens will enjoy the protection of a Constituion with accountable/transparent government and police agencies" if he really wanted to get Canadians attention and also make waves at the same time in his trolling. We have a Charter of Rights and Freedom but it is not the same, far worse, police regularly violate it without consequences, certainly in Ontario. Canadians wouldnt get on board with becoming a state of the U.S, I dont think Trump believes it either, this is all trolling, for.hesdlines really. His failure was in not trolling citizens through discussing civil liberties. If he raised the Constitution vs charter he would really rile up Canadian media and citizens, many who are not happy withh a system that has allowrd the police to abuse and basically enforce a caste in many respects. I've heard protesters in Canada claim they have "First Amendment Rights" which of course isn't true, as they are Canadians. It's a bit sad but shocking at the same time.but it.does illustrate the strength of thr U.S Constitution reputation.

Go fuck yourself moron. Spending priorities??? You mean like infrastructure, health care and education?

Our tax dollars are spent on our citizens, not on building walls at the border that don’t work, blowing up other countries, or creating a Space Force.

All of our people have health care. Conservatives have been trying to get rid of that. That’ll cut spending.

Child tax benefits. $500 per month per child for low income families. Fuck em.

Given that CSIS won’t let you get a job, maybe we should end whatever government program that you’ve used to pay your living expenses.

You’ll get your wish when Poliviere is elected.
