83% of Americans Want Tax Cuts Now

The citizenry needs to pay down debt and avoid future personal deficit spending to the extent possible. If we leave things alone, this will happen by itself.

If we want people to spend more now, they first need to know their job is relatively secure. Not the case at the moment. If we want to accelerate debt pay-down as a prelude to increased spending, people need more money to do that with.

Equals lower taxes on individuals and businesses. Review The Prophet's big social ideas after this is fixed. Do nothing to increase taxes on individuals and businesses.

It is hard to imagine the citizenry finding anything particularly pertinent to fixing their personal circumstance within what has been thus far proposed by The Prophet's administration. And the 98% will get a tax cut bromide is almost pure manipulation.

Did you see this from Reagan's Grace Commission?

one-third of all income taxes is consumed by waste and inefficiency in the Federal Government, and another one-third escapes collection due to the underground economy. "With two-thirds of everyone's personal income taxes wasted or not collected, 100 percent of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the Federal debt and by Federal Government contributions to transfer payments. In other words, all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services which taxpayers expect from their Government.

I did. The whole thing is so colossally broken.

Today's Rasmussen addition paints a very clear picture of the growing animosity from Americans regarding the nation's current tax n spend direction...

-81% believe middle class tax cuts should be included in this year's budget - contradicting the current reports that the Democrat Congress is eliminating those earlier proposed tax cuts.

-66% believe Obama will try and raise taxes on those earning less than $250,000 per year.

-64% consider taxes to be a very important issue.

-Nearly half believe they pay more than their fair share in taxes.

-Nearly 60% agree with the Reagan view that "government is not the solution to our problems; government is the problem."

More from your lame Rasmussen link:

One consistent finding is that a majority believes tax cuts are good for the economy. But there are exceptions. Half (51%) believe that tax hikes on those who earn more than $250,000 a year would be good for the economy. There’s less enthusiasm for tax increases on those who earn more than $100,000 annually.

And yet, with a system so completely broken, so many are still so willing to continue feeding the monster...actually, I guess the reality is that so many claim to be so willing - yet it is a minority of actual tax payers who are shouldering the burden of keeping the broken and ever wasteful machinery of government shuffling forward...

Agreed! And yet, the Democrat Congress intends to do just that.

Thank you for providing that information to this thread!!! :clap2:

You don't know anything about this Democratic congress or what they will do. All you can do is sit around cherry picking polls.

That's it.

The problem is, they also want a Nanny State. Which is how we got into this mess in the first place. They want Nanny, but they don't want to pay.

And that is why Liberals get elected. And why no matter how bad they spend they get reelected, no matter how often they cheat on their taxes and do illegal things in office the people vote for them.

Hmm, nearly half believe they pay more than their fair share? Those must be the ones who actually pay taxes.

Anyone that works pays Social security and medicare taxes.

You are absolutely correct - Democrat support is based upon the foundation of promised entitlements - it has been that way for generations now...

I did. The whole thing is so colossally broken.

Yet BOBO wants MORE taxes to be collected.

Bobo is among the more conflicted participants in here - over emotional, with too little sense.

He is good for some laughs though...

I thought this was interesting from the poll:

Americans tend to believe they pay a higher share of their income in taxes than people in other income brackets.

That seems reflective of my experience.

Also from another Ramessun poll:

Fifty-one percent (51%) of all voters say deficit reduction is more important while 39% opt for the middle-class tax cuts.

That's encouraging.

lol, this blows TM's thread out of the water....

i love how easy polls are to manipulate

Yes, and TM was so very proud of that little thread.

Alas, even those Americans paying no taxes wish to pay fewer taxes...

Most Americans got a tax break.

Tax cuts without spending cuts are not going to work.

CUT SPENDING. Leave taxes where they are and CUT SPENDING.

And Start at the top not the bottom. Cut all pay for congressmen and senators. Cut the president's pay, reduce staff sizes, end all pensions for elected officials, end all perks.

After all they're not in it for the money right?

I would support that - 10% spending cuts across the board for the next 2 years.

And real spending cuts, not the BS "we cut increased spending by 10%" crap we get from DC all the time - real 10% cuts across the board.

83% want tax cuts yet a majority believe Obama will increase spending.

What does that tell you about the "pass the buck" generation?

Make spending in proportion to the levels it was at during the Clinton administration and get rid of the Bush tax cuts.

That gave us a surplus budget in 2000, and would do it again.
