7-Eleven is closing more than 400 locations

Most of it isn't sushi, but I didn't die.
7/11 will serve what the people will eat. For some reason I liked their burritos. Other companies took the baton that they helped to turn into a thriving business with many stores and a communality.

Japanese 7-11's serve real food.

Just remember "folks" that when those stores close down, and the area turns into Detroitification, those savages will move on, like the nomads in a desert, looking for another place to plunder. Democrats are a plague on society.

Quick Trip (QT) really did a number on 7-11. QT has TONS of foods and is always jamming busy. I do like 7-11's slurpies but I hardly ever go on that side of town.

“Underperforming” nudge-nudge, wink-wink. We have to chose words wisely so to not offend.

I loved the local 711 as a kid. Kind of sad to see the chain needing to adapt.

“New YorkCNN —
Several hundred “underperforming” 7-Eleven locations across North America are closing, the convenience store announced.

Seven & I Holdings, the chain’s Japan-based parent company, revealed in an earnings report Thursday that 444 locations of 7-Eleven are shutting down because of a variety of issues, including slowing sales, declining traffic, inflationary pressures and a decrease in cigarette purchases.”

Wawa and Royal Farms have been outselling 7-11 in alot of areas like here in PA.

Eh.

Kind of like losing Kmart.

We look back at our childhood memories shopping there with rose colored glasses, but what we’re really nostalgic about is our lost youth.

An honest look back at 7-11 or Kmart, and we’d remember that these places were fairly shitty overall and had nothing really to offer that you couldn’t find somewhere else.

No american adult should be working for under $20 per hour. For that have the owner do it.

I’m not sure 16 year old kids flipping burgers ought to make more than $20/hr

Those jobs need not be filled.
We need low paying “starter jobs” for high school kids

I made minimum wage as a bag boy in high school and it was a fair wage for the job and good experience

So those are optional jobs and if nobody applies it's a great thing. A sign of positive.

Too many hood rats hang around 7-Eleven.

Back in the '70s and '80s it was different.

Nothing bad about a business shutting it's doors.

Last time I was in Vegas there was a 7-11 on every corner

Haven’t seen one in my neck of the woods in over 10 years

All I remember about the was the slushies, tbh

Businesses run their course. It's a good thing when they close it out.

I remember when I lived in vegas. We counted driving across town and we saw 116 of those 7-11's.

Would Americans go for a change? Is there a niche customer? What people go to American 7/11's? There is a market tow what they serve. The product cooked may need to be fresher and not sitting for hours.

There’s a 7-11 a few miles from me in an area overtaken by illegals. Not sure what is happening on the inside - I’ve never seen anybody park in their lot or go into the store - but the parking lot is swamped by illegals every weekday morning. I’d estimate 100 to 150 of them, waiting to be picked up for day jobs.

A couple of years ago the local government wanted to build a pavilion on the lot so the illegals wouldn’t have to wait in the rain, but taxpayers objected. There are tons of bus stops without shelter, so why worry more about illegals?
