7.1 quake hits New Zealand

Ok.... I know Dr G has a sense of humor so I'm gonna risk a joke......

I'm sure he's fine, he's used to being on shaky ground.

But... I really do hope the Grump Dr is ok.

Wow! I thought 7.1 was pretty big. Best wishes for Dr. Gump.
My old store manager had a wedding on the day of the Earthquake in Christchurch. Wonder how that went. :eusa_eh:

thanz for those pictures Pete......someone asked me once why are there no brick buildings in S.Cal....those pictures of the brick ones show the reason....

Hi All

Thanks for the prayers etc, but I live in Australia...;o) When I first started posting here I lived in NZ, Auckland, which is in the North Island. Auckland is also home to about 42 dormant volcanoes, which is more of a worry than an earthquake (although in my 38 years of living in Auckland there was only ever one tremor, and I missed it because I was in my car and didn't feel it, although the wife did - she is from the Wairarapa - just above Wellington), so she is used to the odd tremor or two)

Interestingly I thought if there was ever going to be a major shake it would be HiPeter's location of Wellington, which sits on a major fault line.

Glad nobody was killed...

So, apparently Dr G lives not on the north island, or the south island but on a totally different island.... LOL.
