Birth rates are dropping all around the world.

To sustain a stable population, the birth rate needs to be 2.1 children per female. If the replacement rate drops below 2.1, serious economic problems begin to occur. For example, the ratio of active workers to retirees shrinks, resulting in a greater tax burden on workers to support the elderly. We are down to 2.7 workers per Social Security recipient and are facing bankrupty of the Social Security system in a few short years.

The United States birth rate was 3.65 in 1960. It has declined steadily to the present rate of 1.62. There is no evidence this trend will change.

Since Roe v. Wade, America has killed 63 million fetuses in the womb. This would have reversed the declining birth rate necessary to sustain our population.

I was watching a video about declining birth rates last night, when my wife said, "We should outlaw abortion."

One of many reasons I married her.

The country with the lowest birth rate is South Korea. They stand at a shocking 0.73.

They are followed by Hong Kong at 0.78, Singapore, Taiwan, and Macau at 1.2.

China really shot themselve in the face with their One Child Policy and stand at 1.0. They have repealed the One Child Policy for that reason.

Abortion is legal in all these countries, although in South Korea it has only been legal since 2019.

Fox News viewers will be pleased to hear the countries with the highest birth rates are Chad at 9.4, Somalia at 9.1, Congo at 5.9, the Central African Republic at 5.81, and Niger at 5.79.

Fox News viewers will also be pleased to hear those countries do not top the list of countries with the highest death rates. Not even close.

The United States is only just now pondering what to do about our low birth rate. Tucker Carlson believes shining red light on your balls will solve the problem. I kid you not.

Other countries, especially in Asia, have been working on this problem for a long time. Cash incentives and so forth. All attempts have failed.

There is one other solution aside from banning abortion which is guaranteed to be successful.

Immigration. Lots of immigration.

We have 63 million unborn to replace.

OP, Do you have a link to support your statistical data?

Please provide one in order to keep the topic open.

"LEGAL immigration. Lots of LEGAL immigration.
We have 63 million unborn to replace."

I know that's what you meant. :rolleyes-41:

People can't afford children today. We are working towards making that even harder.

Winning post. I look at this young couple that lives next door to my daughter. They just had their first child 9 days ago. The wife is already back to work full time and the baby is in daycare all day. They couldnt afford to have her stay home. Thats tough going.

Years ago it was the population boom that was the threat to humanity. Now it looks to be tapering off.
A threat to humanity now not a threat.

With AI about to replace many humans in the workplace, do we really need to replace everyone? Probably not.

With robots also being developed, and self-driving vehicles, how much of the populace really needs to be replaced?

College grads are having a hard time landing jobs. What will society look like in 10-years? Guaranteed income without work?

The problem isn’t the quantity of people, it’s the quality that really matters. We have traded too many lions for scavengers. We have become a nation with far too many unproductive thirdworlders with no ambition to do and be better….they are liabilities and not assets.
We shouldn’t have sent $165B to Ukraine, we should have taken in their 38 million people and let the country fold. We could have sent 38 million non-contributing brown parasites home to the shithole to our south to make room for them.
Imagine if Lost Angeles and all of south Mexifornia went from Brown to White overnight.

Every generation has believed the latest inventions would make humans unnecessary.

All the way back to the Luddites.

Horseshit. Total horseshit.

I have debunked your lies before.

About 40 percent of our Ph.D. scientists and engineers were born in another country, Orrenius writes. People tend to focus on illegal or low-skilled immigration when discussing immigrants and often do not recognize the tremendous contribution of high-skilled immigrants.

A new study, released last week, throws new information into the debate over foreign workers who arrive in the U.S. on such specialty visas.

The report, based on telephone surveys with 2,054 companies and projections by researchers at the University of California at Berkeley and Duke University, says about 25 percent of the technology and engineering companies launched in the U.S. in the past decade had at least one foreign-born founder.

Immigrants Become Founding Fathers

These immigrant founders tended to be highly educated - 96 percent held bachelor's degrees and 74 percent held graduate or postgraduate degrees, with 75 percent of these degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics-related fields. The vast majority of these company founders didn't come to the United States as entrepreneurs 52 percent came to study, 40 percent came to work, and 5.5 percent came for family reasons. Only 1.6 percent came to start companies in America.

Even though these founders immigrated for other purposes initially, they typically started their companies just 13.25 years after arriving in the United States. And, rather than settling in well-established immigrant gateways, such as New York or Los Angeles, they moved to a diverse group of tech centers across the country and helped fuel their growth.

While 23 percent of the nation's cooks and 20 percent of its janitors were immigrants in 2000, 27 percent of new computer-software engineers were also immigrants, according to a recent Migration Policy Institute study.

Indeed, the more technically educated the group, the more likely immigrants are to be overrepresented in it.
While the foreign born make up 15 percent of the overall workforce, according to the 2000 census, they constitute approximately 17 percent of those with a bachelor's degree in science and engineering occupations, 29 percent of those with a master's degree, and 39 percent of those with a doctoral degree.
