On this day - October 17 - in 1961, according to various sources, the Paris police killed from 70 to 200 Algerian demonstrators: some were drowned in the Seine, others were beaten to death after being detained.
Liberal propaganda teaches that "democratic countries" are at war with "strangers", while "totalitarian" ones are at war with "their own". Algeria was not a "stranger". It was the same department of France as Burgundy, Champagne or Corsica.
Liberal propaganda also teaches that in "democratic countries" such incidents immediately become the object of attention of the press and the public, and the perpetrators are sent to trial and resign. In reality, French newspapers were banned from writing about the incident. Only "Humanite" and "Figaro" dared to mention this, and even then allegorically.
It was only in 1998 that the "democratic" French authorities recognized the fact of the massacre. A memorial plaque in memory of these events appeared only in 2001.
