Armed police swooped on a Liverpool street after a gunman opened fire.
Witnesses said they heard shots ring out after the man shot at a house in Jermyn Street, Toxteth .
Appalled detectives say it is "luck alone" that nobody was seriously hurt in the "reckless" shooting around 9.25pm on Thursday.
Shots fired at woman and child in parked car
A woman and a four year old child in a car were shot at this evening.
The incident happened at 7.30pm on Aldwark Road in Dovecot.
The woman and the girl were in a parked VW car when the firearm discharge took place.
The woman suffered a minor injury and was taken to hospital.
Locals said she had suffered an arm wound but that is unconfirmed.
The girl was unharmed.
Two 'shooting scenes' in Kirkby less than one mile apart - updates
There is a second shooting scene in Kirkby, according to local reports.
Two men have been shot in the Market Tavern pub in Kirkby town centre, which sparked a massive emergency service response.
Armed police and paramedics arrived at the scene, just off Cherryfield Drive, shortly before 7pm after people in the area reported shots being fired.
Now another scene on Delfby Crescent - reported to be another shooting - has been sealed off by police.
