30 hour a week service job....

Yes. In 1973, I remember it well, gasoline was 22 cents a gallon and you could get 5 pounds of chicken for dollar in the economy pack.
Those days are gone.
I bet you two jokers haven't yet figured out who is responsible for devaluation of the USD.
Nope. But all shit began hitting the fan when gasoline prices doubled ... the price of groceries began climbing on a weekly basis, but my grocery budget didn't. Don't know what caused it, but I'm guessing you'd say it was OBAMA, right?

Obungles was chooming and getting cornholed back in those days
You are one sick, twisted freak, cottage cheese thighs.

Again, get back on topic, misfit. I'm weary of your middle school antics
If you say so, you disgusting, smelly turd. LOL.

Hey, I thought you had me on ignore? LOL.

That's just 16,000 jobs a year....hardly a dent in our employment figures

What is wrong with 94 million not in the labor force?
How many do you think should be there?
You do know that most jobs are basically 30 hour a week beginner service jobs… That's why the economy is so shitty.
That's part of the reason why the federal debt is so high, the federal government is being a nanny to far too many people.

And the worst part of the whole deal fucked up progressives think it's OK. :lmao:

Who cares?

You are bitching about 16,000 additional service jobs a year

We had 162,000 jobs added last month alone....show where they are all service jobs
Most jobs added in the Obama presidency have been service jobs, you know 30 hour week beginner jobs.
How many six-figure natural resource jobs of been lost during the Obama presidency? Coal mining, oil drilling, etc.
Flipping burgers and stocking shelves are nothing to build a career out of… Fact

It's a shift, progressives think it's OK to only work 30 hours a week and get a full-time career? There is no society more lazy than the socialist society.

Try living on it HERE, in 2016, in a town large enough to have a Taco Bell.

You are a captive market. They can jack the prices up to their leisure.

Do you really expect a complex that dictates companies should always make as much money for as long as possible, are going to set reasonable prices?

You guys talking about 45 years ago and someplace in Cambodia.....get back on track.

No, actually I am talking about the modern day in several dozen third world countries. There are those that get paid 25 cents to 1$ a day in the third world.
And they're paying $600 plus heat for their rent, and needing a car to get to work because there's no public transportation, right? That's what I mean.

And 1000 bucks a month for Obamacare they can't use....

Whoever came up with this notion that just because you have a college degree this magically makes you worth money?
You've been real down on liberal arts educations, anything that doesn't guarantee you becoming a titan of Wall Street or Mr. Business in your little puddle of a town. But the people with those degrees are probably doing as well in finding an entry level job in many places as someone with a degree in economics or marketing.
Just don't be so critical of fine arts and liberal arts as a degree. Not everyone in the world has an interest in getting rich.

*TRIGGER WARNING*

So the real reason that income flattened out in the 1970's is because women came into the workforce. When you double the workforce, the "worth" of your labor goes down.

You're a rich woman, yet you say such drivel? The workforce didn't "double" and it had nothing to do with fuel prices which started the whole thing.

HEY! I trigger warning'ed That means if you're a snowflake you shouldn't read it.

Yes the cost of gas went up, and at the same time as this lovely thing happened - all of a sudden families needed /two/ cars because the wife was working now.

I guess it depends on the individual and their particular situation. Even for those like me who make well above minimum wage it wouldn't be a bad way to supplement your income. Hell, if I didn't already work 10 hours a day and wasn't lazy I'd consider it.

NOBODY is melting here. Snowflakes are pretty awesome, too, the real ones. All unique but formed from exactly the same ingredients and conditions. Like people, ya know?
You got a chance at a career. Why so sour about others having that chance?

Who said I was "sour"? I merely stated why wages flattened out. When you double the work force, the "worth" of your time goes down, there are twice as many people fighting for the same jobs. And when you eventually get to the point we are at today, where there are simply not enough jobs to go around, you have shithole wages. This is also why the idea of open borders is so disastrous for America. Hell we can't even employ the American's how the hell are we going to find work for all the entire world streaming in? We're bleeding like a damn sieve out both ends (jobs leaving and more employees flooding in) and all the libs can do is bitch at business owners to pay more... It's a pipe dream and it /will/ destroy the country. This isn't a hard concept to understand, but ya'll are so lost in making yourselves feel good that you can't see what is happening. You didn't see it in the 70s with women going to work and you can't see it now.

I'm sure you'll just label me as a sexist racist and ignore the reality.

Isn't the idea supposed to be that our capitalist society will continue to grow, all the jobs we can fill? We seemed to be doing okay before the recession (you heard about that, right?) You think limiting the work force is the answer? Send the women home? I hear 70% of agricultural jobs are being done by undocumented workers. Who's gonna milk our cows and plant our tomatoes if they all go home? Will anyone be able to afford to eat?
I don't like the concept of growing the government to fix our problems, but we can afford to pay a minimal living wage to full-time workers. You realize, right, that minimum wage is so low a lot of people on welfare can't afford to go to work. They'd lose too many benefits they would no longer be able to afford, like reasonably priced housing, healthcare, etc. THAT is not sensible either. We don't need slave wages.

That was not the point of the article. It tried to reflect on the changing nature of not only the workforce but the work itself
You posted the article...you should have tried to read it
