22 Billion lost? Was it worth it?

No point in whining about what might have been. They might have saved billions in debt by not getting the games.

As to whether or not it was "worth it" to "get back at Obama," I suggest you ask the IOC since they're the ones who made the fucking decision.

How many $ Billions have been spent on the war in Iraq? And how many young lives have been lost or damaged beyond repair in the war on terror? Ask yourself, can a nation ever defeat a noun?
The policies of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld - and the neoconservative ideology - has been a disaster. A thinking person must ask, is the world fed up with cowboy diplomacy, and is the IOC a microcosim of the worlds disgust and distrust of us?

Took only two posts to get to blaming BOOOOOOOOOOOOSH!!

As the Marxist moonbat tragicomedy marches on......

Besides that, "terrorism" is a nominalization, not a noun.

It's the IOC's job to politicize sports, just ask Jimmy Carter.

An independent study which suggested the US might have lost 22 billion by losing the Olympics.

Was it worth it? 22 Billion? To get "back" at Obama?

If Chicago would have won the hosting of the 2016 Olympics would you be asking if it was worth it to get "back" at Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva by not letting Rio de Janeiro host it? Or are you just stupid?

Rhetorical question

What are you smoking?
FIrst off, the US didnt "lose" $22B. It was never ours to begin with. Second, I'd like to see something in the real world that suggests that Olympics bring in $22B. If that were the case Atlanta should be swimming in money.
How much did CHicago spend to get the Olympics? That was truly lost money.
Finally, who is "getting back" at Obama? Was that really the rationale for the decision? If so it doesn't say much about Obama's standing in the international community, that they would throw over Chicago's bid just to get back at him.

They were going to use the money we made on the Olympics to offset the costs of ObamaCare

Atlanta did make a profit, along with LA, "twice".

When 22 billion comes into the economy, it doesn't mean 22 billion in "profit", but in jobs before the games, in television rights, in what visiters from other countries pay. You did read the study, right?

Obama didn't spend anything to "get the Olympics". Do partison hacks know anything?

Did Atlanta make $22B in profit?
No.
Does it cost nothing to put together a proposal for the Olympic Committee and submit it? Do you even know?
And I still want an answer to my question about throwing Obama over.

"War on terror"; terror is a noun, dimwit.

Come on people. Don't play dumb. Conservatives cheered when Chicago lost out on the Olympics. Many leaders from other countries were in Copenhagen. Obama wasn't the only one. And, Obama also met with General Crystal during the 18 hours he was there.
Obama is from Chicago. The city appreciates the fact that he tried.

But come on. Get real. All the conservatives cheering? Rush Limbaugh? Republicans want Obama to fail. No matter what, they want him to fail. All the cheering was "getting back" from some imagined slight. No matter what, conservatives just can't seem to be honest. They lie to us, to their party and to the American people. You can see the results from that last eight years of debacle and incompetence.
No matter how it hurts the country, Republicans want Obama to fail and they will do everything in their power to make sure that happens. It's obvious. It's right there. How can it be denied? It can't.

Was it worth the $100 million they spent trying to get this, when they now say they knew they never had a chance, instead of spending that $100 million on their poor inner city and homeless population? You know, job creation and such?

LOL

The only way the Afghan Commander can get face time with Obama is to meet him on his Quixotic Quest to get the Olympics to the most Corrupt city in the USA.

Maybe McChrystal can get booked on Letterman the next time Obama is set to talk to Dave?

The Obamaphiles are definitely butthurt over this. They're the only one's left who start threads on it or give a fuck about it.

Very thin-skinned bunch, it starts from their leader though.

C-mon Rio vs. Chicago?

This was over before it started.

If you were on the Olympic commitee which would you choose?

This isn't even worth discussing.

So your initial post was wrong. Conservatives did not make the decision, the Olympic COmmittee did.
A lot of us were experiencing our own Schadenfreude: here was Obama, the beloved of the European set, jetting off the Copenhagen (on our dime) to plead a special interest and bring home the bacon, which only he can do because he's THE ONE.
And he got his ass handed to him. I guess he isn't ten feet tall after all. I guess the Euro's aren't really so in love with him after all. I guess the whole bizarre episode once again demonstrates his lack of self awareness and poor judgment.
Yes, we all want him to fail. His goals are antithetical to the American people. They need to fail, much as communism needed to fail. We need to elect a GOP congress in 2010 and stymy all of his legislative priorities because they are poison for America.
