If a student isn't present, the dollars go nowhere as the school doesn't receive them. School funding is a highly complicated subject and not for the faint of heart. It is a semester long course in education graduate school. My professor who taught the class was president of two universities and one of the county's leading experts on school finance and educational law.

Making generic uninformed statements is typical of most of those outside the educational career field. It's not like if the kid didn't show up for the week, they'd have to turn the lights off in the restrooms when they were empty.

What about all of the other subjects taught by elementary school teachers? Language arts, reading, science, history, etc. The reason I taught middle and high school was because I could not afford to go back to school to get all of the coursework necessary to teach those subjects.
