You don't have ranked choice voting. Without it, the open primaries don't do a lot of good. You still have the lesser-of-two-evils conceit, which is the core of the problem.

Also, that kind of "open" primary is still controlled by the parties. It just means anyone can vote.

It's amazing how Americans are just hoping to get their citizens educated so that they can innovate and help America win, while Canadians have a really high population of educated people (at least in large cities) but the system does their best to minimize their influence.

It requires a shift. More role models. Less focus on video games, sports and music, more focus on innovators and intellects.

That has always been a problem with the West over the last 50 years. Think about how big of an icon Neil Armstrong was or Eistein, or even Bobby Fischer when he defeated the hated Russians.

Now the biggest stars are musicians and athletes. Most of whom are not well read themselves.

Surprisingly school were not been canceled in Mecklenburg county. To have masked, armed men, in full body armor coming into a classroom and yanking a fellow student out of class is traumatizing for anyone. Everyone should keep their children home.
The only ones who benefit are the teachers unions. More students = more teachers and administrators = more dues to the unions.
