Let’s look at Jayden Daniels’ rookie season so far…
He has played in and started all 16 games so far. The Commanders official record is 11-5. I would suggest they’re 2-8-4-1.
3 WINS. A WIN being defined as going out and dominating your opponent end to end and winning by more than one score (9+ points).
8 NON LOSES. A Non -Loss being a game where you win by being lucky, average, or because your opponent wanted to lose more than you did.
4 NON WINS. A Non-Win being the opposite of a Non-Loss… a game where you were unlucky, your opponent lucky, or you just didn’t do enough to Win.
1 LOSS. A Loss being a game where you got you head best in by more than one score.
The Loss cane in the first week of the season against the Buccaneers when Washington just flat out played like shit. Nobody was good that day.
Of the three Wins, only two can be credited to Daniels… Arizona and Cleveland. In the other one (Carolina), he went out early with a rib injury caused by his lack of situational awareness in sliding before he got hit. Marcus Marriotta lead the team for most of that game.
The other twelve games were essentially toss-ups. The total point difference between those games is 50 points. The Commanders are +2 in point differential between those 12 games. Not exactly world beating.
This team, under this QB is a couple bits of good/bad fortune from being 7-9 and eliminated from the playoffs.
Danirls has one more chance to prove himself worthy in the regular season before having to go on the road for the playoffs. A loss next week at the House That Jerry Built in Arlington, Texas would mean a trip to the unfriendly confines of Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia to play an Eagles team whose offense they haven’t stopped yet this season. A win guessers Washington the sixth spot in the BFC and an uncertain opponent.
