1st in the nation: San Jose Will Force Gun Owners to Cover Costs of Gun Violence After Mass Shooting

If the law-abiding citizens of San Joe are going charged for someone else's gun violence, they might as well commit some gun violence of their own.
The taxpayers have been paying for years maybe they should commit gun violence also, according to your logic we can all commit gun violence...

We all do already, by doing nothing about mass shootings.

Shall we be on guard duty 24/7?

With them at mentality I'm thinking we should just go ahead and arrest you all.

Since when did felons pay for their own lawyers?

it's a slippery slope from here, folks!

.

It won't stand up if anyone takes it to the US Supreme Court.
The Court has ruled in several instances that to tax a Constitutionally Protected Right,
is an unconstitutional attempt to hinder the exercise of that Protected Right.

No Poll Tax ... No Gun Tax ... Simple As That.

Declare the NRA a terrorist organization to start with.

If I am going to have to pay for somebody else's criminal acts then that means what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

If you are a registered Democrat shouldn't you pay for the damages done by Negroes and Illegals?

I don't know if this will stand up in court.

US Supreme Court Cases
Minneapolis Star Tribune Co. v Commissioner (1983)
Grosjean v American Press Co. (1936)

Taxing ink and paper when the newspaper keeps writing unfavorable articles about the politicians, didn't stand up in court.
Huey P Long also couldn't tax a newspaper that didn't write favorable articles about him either.

There are many more examples ... And it is a Protected Rights issue, not a Firearms issue.

Totally unconstitutional....will never pull it off. .that would be like charging everybody with a steak knife in their kitchen drawer a surtax for every stabbing that happens in a ten mile radius,.... lol....
