BATF Regulatory Ban on Handgun Sales to Under-21 - Ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL

Unless of course it was Uncle Sam giving them the guns.

At 18 you are too young to go shoot some target but go kill someone that never did anything to us? Hurrah!

All this legislation crap to see who will make the most laws regarding guns in this country it just keeps getting more laughable every day!!

If someone wants a gun, they are going to get a gun.........one way or the other. These morons in office can make up laws and regulations right and left (pun intended) all damned day long, 24/7/365.........and it's not going to do one goddamned bit of good.

If someone wants a weapon, they will GET a weapon!!! Even if they have to make it themselves.

I have no issue with the ruling, mostly because such a restriction is ineffective and needless – more unwarranted government regulation than a Second Amendment right violation.

But the notion of the Second Amendment being a ‘second-class’ right is idiotic rhetoric completely devoid of merit.

It will be interesting to see how this effects challenges to state laws prohibiting those under 21 from purchasing a long gun.

Wouldn't this ruling also apply to alcohol? It will be interesting. Odd how this wasn't bigger news, it's rather important and gets very little coverage. Usually a win for freedom gets the liberals all foamy at the mouth calling for oppression and hours/months/years of whining.

Yeah. It's great. Now more young white men can massacre dozens of innocent people for no reason.

the majority of 'young white men', just like the majority of 'young black men' that are killing "innocents" would get guns even if they were all illegal.

Those laws are now null and void. There's no need to challenge them.

Opinion in recent LA Times.

"A handgun's main purpose is to kill or injure, and a study in Los Angeles County found that 18- to 20-year-olds are far more likely to commit violent acts with a firearm than older people. "

Did they only check ages, or were they smart enough to check 'affiliations'?

Years ago the argument for the 18 year old vote was "if they can fight for their Country they should be able to vote". The same goes for handguns. If (normal) 18, 19, 20 year old's are able to operate a complicated weapon of mass destruction in the military surely they have the intelligence and maturity to purchase a handgun.
