Sorry aint doing politics anymore

1995, HEAT is one of the greatest crime movies of all time. It does have some major plot holes but the acting, action and realism is most excellent.

So many epic scenes and both sides are cunning and smart.

This is one of my favs

What was THE GUN in Heat?

Lt. Vincent Hanna (Al Pacino) with an FN FNC in the shootout on Flower Street following the bank robbery.

Great movie. One of the best heist movies ever.

Heat was actually a remake of an earlier movie by Michael Mann called L.A. Takedown.

The restaurant coffee scene dialog is nearly identical.

Some have said the shooting scene was one of the more realistic seen in movies. They weren't trying to kill the Cops, they were trying to get away from them. Moving box of suppressing fire.

Val Kilmer and DeNiro made the film. In my opinion, Pacino missed the mark trying to play this tough "gum chewing on overdrive" - guy. WTF was up with the constant gum chewing??
Other than that (LOL) - yes, the best heist show made. Great action, twists and suspense.

Major plot hole ??

Why did they even need to hire a 5th guy in the beg

They killed like 8 or 9 cops or more ,, yet he still held his hand at the end ??

Is Pacino character supposed to be a Coke head??

He never sleeps and can be very vociferous at times

Maybe, but some people are just like that naturally.
He overacted, which is the biggest problem with Pacino. And why he doesn't live up to his hype. His best days were many years ago with, obviously, Godfather 1/2 - but also Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico. All yeeears ago.
Most of his other movies - he overacts.
Exception - Scent of a Woman

One of the best movies! The DeNiro romance could have been dropped

Overacting works for that role.

Did Ted Levine have the same death pose in Silence?
Not sure what you mean.

Ted Levine died tits up with an NVG on his face.

Neal McCauley also dies tits up. On a transformer box, slowly.

Clarice hears a sound and shoots. Hanna sees a shadow and shoots.

It just seemed like a commercial way to get Pacino and Deniro together. The acting was OK, at the level needed for this type of film. The shootout was entirely overblown. Anyone getting themselves into such a high level of gunfire with law enforcement is loony. Short, sharp violence at he scene of the crime, perhaps, but usually it is rapidity and cleverness/timing that would succeed. Recreating the Tet offensive is "over the top".
