Here's 50 10-second shreds strung together....Shredding is cool for about 10 seconds.
I guess I'm too accustomed to the top 10 guitar/instrumental solos of the 60s and 70s where the solos could have been released as singles on their own merit.
So that would span between Hendrix, Clapton , Trower, Gilmour, Page, Van Halen and Al DiMeola.....that era ?
I'm way too vanilla for some of those.
Most top 100 songs were written by Tin Pan Alley composers who had one or two songs a year.
I missed the Classic guitar licks and solos of Gilmour, Page, Simmons, Stanley.
At work yhey play Metallica, AC/DC, etc.. at work and it appears I missed a lot of great melodies from these bands when I was growing up.
I literally grew up listening to The Top 100 (don't laugh at me!).
So many great artists and composers that wrote great melodies.
