17.6 million Americans gained health insurance through law

Why are liberals so sick...inquiring minds want to know?

Do you realize you've just accused West Wall of being a liberal? I doubt he'll be happy with that...
Is west wall a liberal? He seems like a raging conservative who is against everything socially and economically liberal.

Yes, i am a liberal Democrat and have been (well I must admit I flirted with Communism for a year or two, but that was mainly because of a cute woman) for all of my near 70 years. I however have a brain and can learn from mine, and others mistakes. Capitalism controlled, is the best system by far for the vast majority of the population.

Capitalism uncontrolled leads to fascism (we are very close to that now) and eventual dictatorship. Sadly that is also true of socialism and every other collective governmental system. They just get there much faster than capitalist systems.
None of your posts reflect liberal ideas at all. Your rallying against government healthcare in support of private healthcare tells me all I need to know.

Then you haven't engaged me on gay marriage, or abortion, or a whole host of other subjects where I am reviled as a liberal POS on this board. I am hated by more rightwingers than lefties I think. With age comes wisdom, I am old enough to realize that most of the ideals I had when I was young while of good heart were less than useful.

The more I have lived in socialist countries the less enamored I have become of the collectivist governmental systems. They work very well for a small select group of people. But for the majority of the people they suck.

East Germans were allocated apartments that measured around 65 square meters. That was it. They weren't paid anything so they could really do anything with them either but that was the space they were allowed. Most couldn't even dream of owning a Trabant but those that could got to experience the wonders of keeping one of those POS's going.

You should look up the culture shock that the East Germans endured when they were reunited with the west. It's interesting to see just how bad it was for the East Germans compared to the West Germans. And the one thing that was different was the governmental type. Collectivist vs individualist.

This is what I'm talking about.

leftist believe the most ignorant ******* lies, and they repeat them, KNOWING it's a lie.

what kind of ******* moron is still trying to blame Bush?

A leftist ******* moron that thinks obama added $0 to the debt.
Do you think increasing the size of government will add nothing to the debt? do you think the aca will add nothing to the debt?

are you this ******* dumb or do yu have another lie to tell us?
speaking of lying and being stupid no one who is sane ever said Obama did not add to the debt.
all presidents do especially when the one before turns a profit in to a loss like bush did.
Obama spent to cushion the recession cased by bush and his policies.
everything I JUST POSTED IS FACT.
The government can't make a profit.

obama copied the bad ideas of fdr and not the good ideas of Harding.

idc about bush and he's not an excuse for what obama did
non sequitur.
facts
Not in evidence. Opinion, yes.
I see you failed to quote my link proving your nonsense about the aca to be nonsense

the government can't make a profit - fact

obama copied fdrs bad ideas - fact

using bush as an excuse is petty - fact

I haven't been a rep since bush sr - fact

so using him as a counter doesn't work on me - fact

you're a pathetic moron that sill hasn't disproved our $18 Trillion is debt is bogus - fact

I see you failed to quote my link proving your nonsense about the aca to be nonsense

Redundant usage is redundant.

I agree...Harding's version of the ACA really did suck.

Partially. I am also anti multinational corporations and feel that the "too big to fail" banks and investment companies need to broken up and those that participated in the stock market manipulations that led to the crash need to be investigated, arrested, tried in a court of law and sent to prison.

I am also FOR some form of universal health care. Obummercare ain't it though.

The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Single Payer Health Care The always rising cost of health care has lead to various individuals trying to understand their health coverage option and also search for other different health care packages which will save them money. One of the most controversial options that will save people money is the single payer health care. This package involves the citizens paying taxes for the various health care services which are offered by the government to every lady, gentleman & child. This system has been used in Canada and various European countries for years now. The advantages of single payer health care This package involves everyone paying the taxes for the different services provided by the government. With this package, the government guarantees every individual irrespective of his/her economic and social status, age and health status some health care when sick. This package will save a lot of lives as everyone’s health needs will be catered for by the government. The physician will have an easier time in the hospital after admitting a patient and diagnosing him. This system eliminates the complex billing procedure which various physicians have to follow every time they diagnose a patient. This billing statement has to be signed by the personnel in-charge, so introduction of this package eliminates this process.

With everything provided by the government, the price of health care provision will be reduced because the hospital will become a non-profit organization. The hospitals will no longer have many corporate executives who draw gigantic salaries & bonuses. This will also eliminate the need for the corporate executives to maximize profits for the hospitals shareholders. With this package you do not have to worry about being denied the health care services because of money or insurance coverage. This will eliminate the need for health indemnity covers. Even though this increase in taxes will seem high, it is quite lower for individuals who normally pay costly indemnity packages. This package will be cheaper and affordable for the lowly paid individuals. Although the doctors will be paid less as government salaried employees, they will get various bonuses. If their patients decide to take-on a lifestyle change which will help deal with the rising health care costs the doctors will then get bonuses, which is unlike the other fields where the employees do not get any bonuses for saving the government some money.

The disadvantages Various single payer system critics claim that this system will be centered-around the government and quite frankly various individuals don’t want to give the government this much power. This system will eradicate competition in this field, thus making it impossible for the individuals to seek health care services somewhere different. This will make it hard for various individuals to have various procedures crucial for their health. Since everything is paid for by the taxes in this system, many people hate the idea that their money will be paying and supporting the unhealthy decisions of others. The government bureaucratic procedures & budget issues will rationalize the health care resulting in selection of the medical procedures which will be deemed necessary which will be catered for, while the others will not be catered for. - See more at: The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Single Payer Health Care | Health, Fitness, Weight Loss, Healthy Recipes

I am not quite sure yet. The problem with every scheme I have seen is doctors get screwed over so that eventually they stop being doctors and do something that isn't as stressful or non rewarding.

One thing that would work is to limit tort damages that attorneys try like hell to get. Reasonable compensation MUST be made to those who are harmed but if you're a bad doctor who is regularly engaging in malpractice you should be in prison, not just paying a large insurance bill.

Insurance costs for doctors are ridiculously high. My friend pays 250,000 annually and he's never had a claim lodged against him. Medicare and Medicaid should be privatized to a non profit so that the ridiculous insurance fraud can be brought under control. The government simply doesn't care because it is other peoples money.

Insurance companies should also not be allowed (as they currently are ) to have a monopoly in states that they do business in. ALL insurance companies should be converted to non profits.

There are other things to think about as well.
