Well, I can’t guarantee that some random crazy person won’t give some to children.

But the stuff wasn’t made for that purpose and… though they aren’t good people… no drug addict or drug dealer has any motivation to give drugs to kids that they could otherwise take and/or sell.

Secondly when you literally have MILLIONS of brightly colored Fentanyl pills some will end up on coffee tables, on the ground, on car seats etc. where unsuspecting kids will find them. We are losing 300 people a day to drug overdoses and Fentanyl POISONING. And finally they are being colored to make them look like candy which entices non-drug users to try them. Unfortunately many of the non-drug users will be children. Now do you get it?

China and the drug cartels are flooding the US with millions of pills laced with a drug that can kill you within minutes. That is a POISON. The Cartels get the raw chemicals from China and hand press the Fentanyl in their dirty drug kitchens. Now they are adding food coloring to disguise it as candy. A smuggler was just caught with 15,000 Fentanyl pills inside of Skittle wrappers! Please explain to us the legitimate medical uses.

As a nurse, I’ve administered subcutaneous Fentanyl dozens and dozens of times. And topical patches probably hundreds of times. Never killed any of them. It’s a pain med and it can help with dyspnea. It works just fine in appropriate doses at appropriate intervals, with a physician’s orders.

Like all narcotic pain relievers, it can obviously be addictive and dangerous when abused.

I was replying to the poster who called it a “poison”. It’s a medical drug. Any drug is poisonous if taken at certain doses. People die from taking oxycodone or Norco recreationally just as much as Fentanyl. Calling it a poison is ignorant and peal-clutching alarmism.

You still haven't addressed the reasoning by the disguise of it being in the form of a kid's candy, where as if the cartels realized that a disguise like that would definitely target children, then why wouldn't they have disguised it as an adult med or vitamin etc in order to be more aware of it not targeting or falling into the hands of children ?? I agree that they aren't in the business of giving anything away for free, but if a rogue nation were to look to soften up it's enemy from within, and then it resorted to using tactics regardless of it's ethic's or moral's lacking, then it might join forces with the foxes that have figured out how to penetrate the enemy, and pay those forces in a proxy to reek havock amongst that targeted so called frenemy.

Depending on distribution, and where it is popping up in the environment, ummmm will determine definitely if it can be considered a poison reeking havock in that uncontrolled environment or not if it's in a more controlled environment as you speak of. Both of you are right, but you know the context of the op, so your points are off in the context of this op.
