$14.00 for a regular burger fries and a soda seems outrageous to me.

I usually don't eat much fast food, but I just felt like it on my way home. Wendy's has always been pretty good, so I hit their drive through. Fourteen dollars ($13.83) for a single burger, fries, and a coke. WTF? I understand prices always go up, but that seems excessive to me. Their help wanted adds only offer $10 to $12, so wages aren't the problem. Am I just a cheap old man, or does that sound a little high?

Look on the bright side of things. At least you've made it to the front entrance.

You used to only hang out behind Wendy's. :blues:

I pinch pennies all the time to avoid paying for fast food.

We have a KFC special here, two little "snackers" for $5. First, I dont want fried food. Second, I dont want the carbs and sugar but I figured it might lift my spirits.

Then I decided "if I spent $5 towards chicken breats, I can make my own and it is healthier when I bake it.

The days of eating out for me will be reserved for a date at a nice place. $14 would probably be $20 in one of our Wendys (Canadian dollars). Of all fast food though, Wendys to me tastes the best (though I love the Whopper).

It's been that way for awhile. I posted nearly the exact thread over a year ago. Yeah that's high but it shows how the masses can be desensitized to prices for convenience. What do people pay for a Starbucks these days, 5 or 6 bucks?

No. When I was a kid, we hung out at a place called Jim's Drive-in, and watched the girls in shorts walk orders out to the cars. Every once in a while, we would crank up and drive really slow to the other end of the main drag and back. Damn, nostalgia makes me smile.

Same thoughts every time I stop to get FF.

I love a good hotdog though.

Nathan's, recently opened a new hotdog joint nearby, and I had to try it out.

2 hotdogs, order of onion rings and a sweet tea.........$18.65.

I came close to just driving right on by the window and not getting my order after being told the price.

But, I had to see if it was worth it...Maybe it's an out of this world great hotdog? Nope.

I'll never be at Nathan's EVER again. Ridiculous.

I used to love a Whopper. Not sure if they changed the way they cook them, or if it's just me, but now they always taste dry.

Bring down the price? How? By screwing our ranchers in favor of another country who will let him build another golf course?

I have no doubt that you also hung out behind the Burger King outlets looking for big whoppers.

You should go to Chili's, get the "3 For Me", 10.99 you get big burger with cheese, fries, drink and a salad or chips and salsa. Beats Wendy's hands down. My better half gets two+ meals out of it.
